5 days in and now Dire Wolves spawn during the day?

8 oclock in the morning. Had left shelter, been gone for a couple of hours, swing back around, get run down.

Did you do a Fresh start after the last update? spawns changed a bit and Direwolves and Bears are only supposed to spawn at night in the forest biomes.

More details are needed of course. RWG or Pregen/Navesgane? What Biome are you in? (Wasteland will spawn nightmarish amounts of zombies/bears/vultures/dogs/wolves).

If this is a bug the devs cant do much without details to recreate the situation and see if its a random goof or something thats a hard code issue

I have had Dire Wolf and Bear spawn in Navesgane on day 2 and 3 respectively (not same playthrough) whether they spawned at night or near dawn when I came outside is up for debate (A19 Latest Beta Version). Just SW Of Trader Joels in the House with the Big A shaped Roof.

Wouldn't call it a bug. Just life.....well death, for the Bear, and me from the Dire Wolf.

Fresh start on a new RNG generated map. In the forest biome. Definitely a dire wolf, not a zombie dog, or regular wolf - it said dire wolf.

My theory based off of observations of them in game is that they don't just magically despawn like a feral zombie. I think you have to move far enough away from the active chunk for them to unloaded, and then they are gone. I base this off experiments of watching a bear from my roof till 9am, and then driving off to jenn, and coming back. no bear. Jenn was 300m away.

I did a run to a buried treasure 600 m away. No dire wolf when I left the trader, dire wolf when I got back.

Fresh start yesterday. I spawning in the snow biom (funny, I try 5 new starts, all spawns are in the snow biom.. I hate it!!). After 5 Minutes I see a Bear... But for my luck he don't see me :)

Thats normal. The only zone with protected day time spawns is the forest biome which has a small chance of regular wolves or a pack of wolves spawning.

I always run around with at least a few flagstone blocks , so I can nerdpole up whenever rngezus decides to throw stuff like that in my face when I have no guns yet.
