So 75hz >60hz, but if your GPU isn't going to keep your games at or obove 75fps consitently then the 60 is probably going to suit your needs better, as well as likely be cheaper.
"V-Sync adds input lag because it delays frames from being shown on screen, making the time between when you do something and when it appears on screen longer. The amount of input lag is highly dependant on the game engine and how it's rendering pipline works..."

as you can see the game is running with rivatuner overlay
I use an Acer Predator monitor that is FreeSync & 144hz... but I set it at 100hz, since 144hz is generall overkill for the games I play.
Because the monitor isn't going to make a huge impact on performance overall. A potatoe with a 240Hz mointor is still a potatoe.
It's not compatibility that is the issue, or that will determine if you should use V-sync or not. As a rule of thumb do not use V-synch no matter what display you use unless tearing appears to be a problem. G-synch is pretty awful much of the time too, though can work in some scenarios.

This just comes down to an individual user needs to know what software may conflict on their system and if they have a conflict the person needs to diagnose their system.
So yeah, they either need to disable it on their system or figure out what is causing the issue there.
