How to get the "on top of the world" achievement? *solved*

Before you ask, yes i have googled it, and any search result i get says to build a tower of wooden frames, however this doesnt work, after placing about 9 or 10 of them on top of eachother, any further attempts at placing more will result in that new block instantly breaking and then breaking the block below it aswell making it impossible to build any higher.
so how do you get this achievement? is it even possible?

You have to "nerd pole" it. Which is just stand on top of the wooden frame and jump stright up then while in the air, quickly place another wooden frame down.

cna be difficult when you get really high up, but doeable. Plus make sure you have cheats off or you won't get any achievements.

im sorry but did you read what i wrote at all, i clearly explained to you that i had tried that method before and that it wont work

Are you sure you don't have cheats / god-mode enabled?

Where are you trying to do it then?

You might be on top of an underground mine or a tunnel of some sort. The game sometimes will not let you build past a certain height if there is something like a hole or tunnel under you (like building on a sinkhole). Try moving out of the area and on a hill top (to get better hieght to start).

If that does not work, then I'm not sure what else to tell you. I play 1 life only so I have yet to try for this one as I don't want to restart a world just trying for a silly achievement.

i am on top of the roof of a high building in the town i have made my base, i place down about 8 or 9 wooden frames on top of eachother just like the method says, then the next one placed collapses on itself and makes the block just below it break aswell

im not that stupid, i know that much, the problem isnt with the achievement not triggering, it's about not being able to even get close to the height required because of the tower collapsing

Try it on a sidewall of the building (no room beneath) and make sure there's no hole beneath all the way to bedrock. Otherwise it wont work.

I think this might be your problem then. Seems you can't have any kind of hole or empty block beneath you all the way to bedrock....just my guess though as from what I have read.
