Question about stamina regeneration rate and damage
Just wanted to confirm, max wellness doesn't make stamina regeneration faster right? I have yet to get enough Health nut and wellness above 100+ to notice any significant difference, but having 70 should be the same as say 100, or 150?

It's just status effects, perks, items that can affect stamina regen rate? Aside from sexy rex, beer, and coffee, is there anything else that can buff?

I notice when i keep mining when my stamina is essentially 0, i'm at about 50% block damage effectively. Is that the same for melee weapon damage? I feel the penalty for being low stamina might be more than that, but not sure exactly.

You're correct.

Wellness does not increase stamina regeneration, it only increases your maximum stamina.

When you get stamina regen perks like Rex, Miner 69er, etc maxed out stamina comsumption becomes almost trivial.

Not 100% sure about stamina during melee combat though.

You do consume stamina when you swing a weapon so it's probably safe to assume it's the same as mining.

Yeah, when you're out of stamina, zombies laugh at your feeble blows. Well, they would be laughing if they breathed, but they don't, so they wheeze at your feeble blows. If you're tired and actually forced to melee, you're as good as dead becuase you don't really harm them. The best you can hope for is to stun with a head shot or stagger them to give you room to get out of range.

In the past versions the "Beer Buff" wasn't worth the backpack slot, the buff was, very, short in duration with a slightly better than normal regen rate. In todays version (16.xx) the "Beer Buff" is significantly better, it's longer lasting, has a better than average stamina regen rate, thus, making it worth the backpack slot. (from my point of view).

However....,
When, I'm in the need for speed, that involves long distance running, or, just digging out my version of the "Grand Canyon", for all its clay, in the shortest amount of time, I drink the " Bottle of Medicinal Alcohol", it maximizes your stamina regen speed to the point of never going below 2-3 points of stamina use, it also lasts a very, very, long time, way better than the beer.

It's the only in-game item that I keep placed on my tool-belt, it comes in handy whenever you're out and about and you suddenly hear a wolf howl or, the yip, yip, yip, of a dog pack, that has just spawned into your area. and, especially, for when you might be out of range to make it home before the blood moon horde spawns in.

P.S.
Now that I'm thinking about it I think the "Medicinal Alcohol" might have been renamed to "Grain Alcohol" in ver.16.xx

Hm never thought about grain alcohol, damn i've never kept it around. Should try it next time and craft some.

Beer duration is 30 game minutes which is about 1 minute 12 seconds real time on (60 min game days). Says on wiki that grain alcohol gets you 4x as drunk as beer, and since beer duration stacks. So i'm guessing the grain alcohol lasts around 5 mins then?

beer makes you immune to stuns, so for a big melee session probs best to drink both.

Grain alcohol lasts about 4 in game hours and beer about 2 in game hours, I've timed it. :) Also you can stack beer drinking but not grain alcohol drinking, if you drink another G.A. after already having one then you'll get drunk and all kinds of weird stuff inhibits you.

Good grief that's a lot of booze.

Good thing there isn't a Dead Brain Cells debuff after all that drinking :)
