Apache artifact chest
Anyone else find one and jumped at the sound effect that happens when you open it?

Still waiting for my unique axe spawn...

I run straight towards the caves now when I spot them hoping today will be the day!

Oh yeah. Was one of those 'did I really hear that or am I going slightly crazy?' moments.

I'm not sure how rare they are in caves but you might have an easier time finding one at the desert monuments where they are guaranteed (from what I heard). That's assuming of course that you have deserts nearby in your maps.

Thanks for the tip.

I was very disappointed when i opened my first one. It was under the dessert monument. Handful of paper and a few pieces of gun powder. But last night and finaly found an axe. This time in one of those open pit mines with a cave at the bottom. Really great for early game. A bit more damage than a 150 iron axe and a bit less than a 150 pick. Really good for getting your construction skill up. But yeah totally jumped that first time.

I found an axe in the monument, but don't know what to do with it. It was later in the game, and I already have much higher gear stuff (it came out orange, around 125). What does the axe do / what is so special? For me, this is A15 if that matters.

As far as I know, it's like a game easter egg, Jaeghan. It's useful if you find it early game, not so much later game. I'd be interested to know what the price tag associated with it is for trading. Mostly it just provides an extra scare moment if you've played long enough that you've tuned out all the other scary sound effects.

Ah, ok, thanks. It's been sitting in my tool chest for some time now, as I didn't know what to do with it, yet I didn't want to discard it. Next time I'm playing, if I remember, I'll run it over to the trader and find out for you.

One thing I noticed is you cant go by the base damage on tools. I tested with an orange steel pick that says it does less damage then iron pick. Tested both and the Steel was still doing a hefty amount of more damage.

One thing I like about these stone axes is that they do a LOT more damage than my stone axe. I have a level 300 quality stone axe and a level 33 quality apache axe and the apache axe still does more damage than my stone axe.

Yea look for the Apache burial ground with an odd artifact in the middle. Taz axe chest is under that monument and around it is unmarked graves with coffins in them to loot.

The Taz axe is OP, try it even at lower leves is wrecks wood and stone pretty well. Cannot repair with it though is the only down side.
