Nighttime Audio
This is a complaint I've had for years now. The "spooky" sounds during the night...The ghostly voices, instruments, other various non-natural environmental sounds...

Lots players have the music turned off, and it still plays at night. Seriously! We have it off for a reason. When the mechanics of the game depend on audio queues, having those queues drowned out by unnatural environmental sounds is beyond annoying, even more so when we have music turned off.

I get it, I really do. You guys worked really hard on the music, and it's pretty good. But lots of players turn it off within the first 10 minutes of playtime because it's distracting, drowns out audio queues and ruins immersion. Please give us the ability to deactivate the nighttime music, or have it turn off when music is turned off.

Keeping an ear out for the sound of feet shuffling through grass, bushes, trees, on pavement, wood, concrete gravel...moans, growls, etc. Now, you can turn the music off, and only have the ambient noise the entire time...except at night. At night, there are several bits of "spooky" sounds that drown everything out. They are music...mournful howls/chants, weird vibrating strings, orchestral strings...These play randomly at night, at full volume, and drown out any telltale queues you would be listening for. For me it's all the more difficult due to my hearing, and there is no way to shut this off!

Stop it! If you make a game that has heavy emphasis on environmental audio queues...Music Off is Music-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥-Off! Your world building atmosphere should stand on it's own(in this case it does). A desolate, lonely, spooky and somewhat stressful environment should speak for itself and not need added musical fluff to get the point across.

Turn down the "ambient sounds" slider along with the music slider. The AmbientSounds are those non-music, "spooky" sounds..not footsteps or gunshots.

I like most of the ambient noises...crickets, rabbits?, wood creaking...those are great. It's just the overblown pieces like the haunted chorus, stringed instruments and such....they're not there during the day with music off, shouldn't be there at night. Kind of crappy that they're tied to the ambient volume.

+1 singing with the choir here ^^^. The spooky night time music is out of place. This is not a haunted house simulator. An option to suppress that crap would be greatly appreciated.

Random "Ambient" noises, option to turn it off
The noises at night are just annoying as hell. It doesnt even have tension, its just annoying noise in the game. Give an option to turn it off, i dont want to hear ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ random moaning and a sink draining.

Also the huge difference between some actions like opening a campfire or chopping a block of wood, I have to keep all audio down. Independent controls would be better.

These really need to be given their own volume slider. They're beyond annoying.

I fully agree with OP. Its ridiculous that even with the music and ambient sounds off, these still play. It makes no sense whatsoever.

It irritated me so much that earlier today I decided to do some time digging around and found a way to remove the sounds. Check out this post:
https://community.7daystodie.com/topic/4388-how-to-remove-bg-spooky-music-at-night/

Also, If you go the manual route, there's another sound I like to remove "a_racoon_oneshot" (stupid raccoon/chirping noise at night) which is not disabled in the post I linked.

Another note is that the search does not work (at least for me) on the unity extractor. Sort the files by name in ascending(ish) order and you can find the files by scrolling to the bottom 8th of the list. They are listed below the "GameObject" files.

I really hope they give the option to just disable it through the settings in the future

Yes! Please remove these or allow us to turn them off. Silence can be much more disturbing than cartoony SFX. It's inherently better at creating a sense of isolation and paranoia.

Amen! It comes off as more corny than creepy IMO.
