right click 7days to die
choose properties
click betas tab
in the box "select which beta.." it is probably set to NONE
Set it to Alpha 18.4
it will now stay at 18.4 even when something newer comes out.
("None" means use whichever version is latest, and it will download updates)
It's also a good idea to backup your 7dtd savegame folder if you are comfortable doing that.
EDIT: And as the post above me said, even when A19 fully releases, you can still play 18.4 if you choose to do so by following the instructions given
Sorry but I do not know how to backup my savegame folder.
1) Hit the play button in steam for 7 days to die, but when the first pop-up dialogue box appears, choose "show game launcher" instead of "play game".
2) In the launcher, go to the tools tab.
3) Click the second button which says "Open savegame folder"
4) You can backup the whole "Saves" folder, or the individual save folders within it. Just make copies of them like any other file or folder, and put the copies some place safe.
In fact, as I recall, as of A18, you can no longer even attempt to load old worlds into new versions; so it shouldn't be an issue to begin with.
Still, if you're worried definitely back up your saves :)
