That said, regarding screamers, Heat decays over time- So since you're not doing a lot of activity constantly, you're likely managing to remain under the 100% threshold- When Heat reaches 100% it summons a screamer, simple as that. So since you're not running all your machines At the same time you're not building up enough heat to attract them. However knocking down buildings generates an absolute ton of heat- As does the mining or explosives you used to do knock it down in the first place- So you spiked over 200% heat all in one go, which subsequently spawned two screamers back to back.
So, if you're just WANTING a screamer to come find you which, that is a nice way to get some sweet xp delivery, break out your auger and go to town on the nearest node. Light up a bunch of forges and chem stations, plant some torches all around your base, but don't say we didn't warn you. *evil grin*
Thanks for the help.
It's also highly possible that your base is right on the border of several chunks, with some of your crafting stations in one, and some in the other- so the heat is not added up all in one place.
I've often thought about the effects that chunk boundaries have on that kind of thing, mainly heatmap stuff but there are occasional other things that I feel like it would be nice to be able to see the chunk boundaries, too.
Does anyone know the easiest way to tell where one chunk ends and another begins?
How big is a chunk, anyway? Part of my brain is telling me 16 blocks on a side (horizontally) and infinitely vertical, but that part my brain is a jerk who sometimes makes things up. Anyone know for sure?
