Capture zombies ?
Has anyone stumbled onto any way to safely capture and hold a zombie without them tearing the prison apart ?
I had this fun thought of capturing a screamer or two and locking them up behind a door.... bored ? Flip the door open, wait for scream, close door, go murder and loot zombies.

Yep, dismemberment is pretty much the only way to guarantee they won't break out. However I heard that by doing this to screamers, their screams stop summoning other infected. Not sure though.

If you want entertainment, just go out at night during Blood moon... Keep first aid kits and first aid bandages and beer on your hotbar. Armour optional. Good luck.

They stop screaming after a while do it's basically useless to keep them alive.

Zombie, no
Behemoth, yes: Behemoth Trap

Of course doesn't matter what you trap, leave area enough to unload chunk, or exit game and you'll likely lose your prisoner.

This only works because you're exploiting though.

Well, technically speaking the trap could be built without making/using a floating drawbridge.

It would still require a drawbridge and exploit the lift effect created though. (in so much as Hatchevators, etc are exploits).

There are a few way using floating plates and/or drawbridges, you can even trap them with hatches.

The bigger issue is this: Screamers can only scream a few times before their screams no longer call zombies. It used to be possible in a15 to capture one and let her scream forever, but in a16 you will go through a bunch of trouble and end up with a dud screamer after just a few uses

If you want to screamer farm it's far easier to just set up a room either above or below ground with tons of forges in it. Turn them on and you will generate enough heat to constantly attract fresh screamers

I usually set up at least 12 forges and can attract hundreds upon hundreds of zombie kills per hour this way

When you are done just turn all the forges off and leave the area for it to cool down

Build a cage using ladders. The trick is to have the back side of the ladder facing the zombie (so the zombie would have to walk to the front of the ladder block to climb up).

If your goal is just to summon zombies, set up 20 campfires. that will create enough heat to draw a horde.

Funny you mentioned it. After a horde night I found a she zed with no legs and arms next to a blade trap and some spikes. I actually thought she was "dead" dead(recent body), but as I walked past her she bit me. Quite a jump scare it was before I realized what happened.
