problem with electricity

i just got finished setting up my house with lights but when i tried to hook it up to the generator it just said *the power source cannot be parent connection*......like wtf its the only power source there

I had no problems. Equip wire tool, right click on generator then right click on whatever you're connecting to. The first thing you right click needs to be the source of power.

Gen or bat or solar pak to what you want to power . Never device to power source !!! Oh and Gen to solar to bat pak .
