Give it time. It is what it is at this point. Several people keep a stack of spikes on their belts for just this very reason. Maybe some beer too as it prevents stuns for a few minutes when consumed.
The game been in early access and alpha for 7 years. Bout time they learn to balance game mechanics.
It's even an Alpha version of a feature inside of a game still in the Alpha development stage. Hell, even the wolves are still Alpha.
I fail to understand how people manage to purchase these games without reading the EA FAQ first. Steam literally shoves it in your face before you buy.
Reality man. Accept it, or don't play EA titles.
No kidding right, I had a pack come from nowhere and was hit by a bear and stuned before i heard anything, luckly i spec into armor and make the best armor i can or i would have been dead. And yes takes alot of ammo if you have crap quality weapons but have killed many bears with just a bow.
Difference is that AAA games, they don't slap an Early Access title onto it for 10 years and the game is actually higher quality due to being in development for 10 years. And of course triple AAA games require 10 years to develop. Because of the 100 hours+ story line, next generation graphics, hiring and recording professional voice acting, hiring orchestrals and symphonies for music, 20 hours+ cut scene CGI, debugging, testing.
Example, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, . <--- THIS REQUIRE 10 years+ of coding and development not a SANDBOX indie game.
Hell, Witcher 3 GAME OF THE YEAR took only 3 YEARS to make. And that game has good graphics, runs smooth, 120 hours+ story line quests, and have good game mechanics and balance. Its not even triple AAA, its by an indie Polish gaming company.
7 days left to die looks and feel the same since 2013. Dogs still spin in wierd circles and deer hops are eratic and un-natural looking. Dirt textures clip through floors and stretch.
This game been in developement for 7 years and is not high quality, AND still has the early access alpha tag that long regardless of the financial backing it has amassed. No excuse even if its indie. Something is clearly wrong here. How hard is it to figure out that spawning zombie bear and dog horde on a single player on day 30 is not balanced? It shouldn't take 7 years to figure that out. It is troll attempt to create artificial difficulty.
Not even close. In fact, I've seen many threads in here about people who quit (or claim to, anyway) because the game has changed too much. And they don't like the new skills or the new items or the new electric system or whatever.
The crazy contradictions among the people who ragequit are actually sort of funny. It's changed too much! I quit! It's not changing enough, I quit!. It's too hard. I Quit! It's too easy, i quit!.
It'll get there, man. A17 is around the corner. Relax and play a different game in the meantime. it was just one bear. You'll get it next time. :)
Yea, but explaining as much would just be a wasted effort. OP clearly believes he knows how to run a development studio and could have had this game out years ago.
We should all be applauding him and be thankful he's here to rescue us.
Are you playing MP and the others went out to do stuffs, or in SP?
5 seconds is ages.
Count them out.
Ages.
Quality of SMG? Skills? Traits?
You could always try Flag & Cobblestone.
Especially by day 30.
Not judging, just advising.
Also, more info would be good like as to your game settings etc so that the community can provide any advice you may require.
'Cos your post isn't just a hate-post ...we can see you are asking for advice and will happily provide it if you can give more as to your settings.
Happy to help
Usually when I get ambushed by a pack its when I'm skinning meat. Hunting seems to draw them like nothing else.
2) Somebody with a tough name like "Vindicator" shouldn't be farming. Ever.
Seriously though, I've been saying this for a while, but apparently they're more interested in switching engines and adding vehicles that will only reduce overall game enjoyment than to fix obvious bugs like this. Dogs, wolves and bears should all have a more robust audio animation:
-At 100 blocks there should be some barking/growling
-At 50 blocks there should be louder howling
-At 25 blocks or less it should be loud, non-stop snarling.
This is the type of annoying little BS bug that they should have fixed before embarking on a gianormous update process. Add in bow malfunctions, no more scent/smell system, insta-spawning zombies after you clear a room, and a temperature system that has you getting dressed and stripping ever three minutes and you have to wonder if they actually care.
But yes. Sorry to hear about your death by silent bear. Hang in there.
