Not that I've ever had zombies spawning in my base in the past in previous alphas, as long as the floor was not dirt, so I'm stil a little confused on how it's supposed to work.
On point....
You built a base double the size of the area covered by your landclaim, and expect to prevent all zed spawns inside of it. That isn't going to happen easily.
You could convert all of the ground into fertilized farmland, which could prevent the standard biome spawns. It's not going to prevent bloodmoon hordes or screamer spawns though.
;)
I know we can edit files to make claim block area bigger but It would be nice to have option to adjust it to our needs ;)
I think Land claims blocks can go up to 70x70, that's a pretty big space for one person,
I'm in the process of designing a fort that contains everything one person could need and
the outer wall only comes to 24x36.
Farms will have to be outside but since that's a 2 min job in the morning every 3 days
and zombies couldn't care less about them I'm not too fussed about it.
-In 16.4, landclaims also cover all blocks from bedrock to the sky within their claim range.
-You should have plenty of space to build a mansion in an 71x71 area that covers a near-infinite verticle distance.
-You can tell (in 16.4 atleast) when you are building outside your claims area as the block you're placing will go from green (within claim) to white(not within claim).
...hope this helps
i just thought it is like in other games, everywhere who is a block of a player nothing will spawn
71x71 is way plenty for a group, let alone one person. Try placing down blocks or even a wall that is 50x50 and you will find that you have a lot of room to work with inside it still. Then there is the fact you can build up as high as the game will let you, or down to the bedrock (though remember they can dig now too).
Screamer spawns can still spawn even within this claim I believe, so keep that in mind. And then there is blood moon horde too, but it should keep you safe from other spawns and sleepers, etc.
You could affectively funnel them to an area that you could then farm them in.
@Bullet that's an interesting exploit. What do your logs look like from the spawn errors?
