Yep, I am aware of that from one of Kickz' videos. That wasn't the case in any of my base losses, however. Thank you though!
This means no base is safe from quests resets in A17. You tear down a prefab junk building it gets reset. You build a storage facility and place all your loot there and it'll get reset by a quest located in that spot deleting your build and your loot.
Not the treasure chests. There are quests that get assigned random locations like treasure chests. These are quests that aren't tied to a POI. Those will reset the chunk. So if I'm on a server and I get a quest that says go out to the middle of nowhere and kill 5 fat zombies and your base happens to be there then I'll wipe out your base just by starting the quest event.
Yeah something like that. I got a quest to go out to a specific location in a wasteland and there was nothing around there but the quest marker to start the event. Soon as I started it the area kinda blinked and the whole chunk was reset. There were no POIs in the area and fortunately no bases.
I understand what you are saying here. However, the base reset as I was approaching in my vehicle. I was nearly there - near enough that the base would have been rendering in visually- when I got the message that my bedroll is no more. So it was as those chunks (that included my base) were loading that the game seemed to have dumped my base. My base was nowhere near any quest POI's. I build next to the lake and was around 100'ish meters from the nearest house. I'm taking a wild guess at the distance but no quests were present within a 1km radius from my base.
Yes, I had a land claim block placed in the middle of my driveway right next to my base. I used flagstone blocks as a driveway/parking spot for my 4x4 as I have had multiple vehicles vanish on me. I thought that by parking on player made blocks might prevent that from happening. Haven't had my vehicles vanish, just my driveway...and entire base! lol My land claim block was also part of the vanishing act. The ground that I had dug out for the driveway and the base foundation were reset.
I had something very similar happen to me, When I started my saved game for my single player, Navezgane world the house I spent MANY hours upgrading and reinforcing had reverted back to the original state I found it in, all the chests I put down with my stuff in them where gone, as well as the furniture I placed in my house, my claim block was also gone, I had planted crops and all but a few where gone as well, however the wall I built on my claim border was still there, as well as the few things I had in my inventory. My game did not crash, I did not start any quests, I played last night, cleaned out my inventory from my exploration trip and exited the game with no problems what so ever, then when I loaded my save today my house had reverted like I explained above. Needless to say I am NOT happy about this, that was a lot of work, and now I have to start over, NOT happy at all.
hello 2 bases nearly on the same lactions disapeears and a base in an and 1 existing house in alpha 18 experimental was reseted and disappears with all my loot... :( i can only find 1 wall from my base .... ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ i never had this issue i playing from alpha 16 to now and this is my first time ... and yes i had 2 claim blocks with undestoryable settings.. only 1 house from my frind is still here, its really because quests? if yes i will edit the xml file and remove all quests from my server...
But again, To be sure this is clear: It does NOT reset a POI from simply accepting the quest from the trader, It is only by going to the POI and starting the quest proper that will do that. So there is no need to strip quests from your server unless you're playing with people you don't trust.
Quests actually shouldn't even appear anymore at locations with a bedroll or land claim block; And an A18 theres even a second level of protection now that is supposed to prevent the activation of a quest at a location containing an active bedroll or landclaim block.. So it really shouldn't have been this that caused your problem.
