Bug: all items on toolbar gone.

I was getting on my bike, and when I got off again, I couldn’t move. Could get on and off the bike, and could drive it around, but no movement off of it.

Jumped out of my wife’s local game session, shut down the game, then reconnected to her local session.

Toolbar was empty. She shutdown and brought it back up, and I logged in.

Still gone.

So, that’s a bug.

And I lost my favorite sledgehammer of flaming doom, too.

Found a chainsaw, right after, soooo, fair trade, but still...

Okay, this is a second time it has happened. Facts I can offer:

This is a game being run on another local computer, and I'm joined in. No dedicated server in use. Just me slaving to their game.

1. It begins when I get off my bike. Happens rarely.
2. When I get off, I find I cannot move. I can turn, and the other player can see me turn my character, but movement and jumping is impossible.
3. This tells me I will lose everything in my toolbar when I log out and back in, so I have to move everything from the toolbar into inventory, or onto my bike.
4. I cannot log back into the client server the other player is running until they shut down and reload thier client.
4. Once I log out and back into their client server, anything left in the bar is gone. Inventory and bike are fine.

This looks like a gamebreaker, with a workaround that prevents total losses.

It's now happened twice, within two days of each other.

This happened to me while on my friend's local server - he was hosting the game from his computer. Actually, it sucked because all of my best stuff was on my belt. Got on bike, bike hit something invisible. Kept driving, got sucked into the ground. Even got screenshots of it. Then when I was on the surface and "normal" again I got to his hideout and got off the bike. Can't move, can't access toolbar items. Then I logged off. Logged back on. No items on quick access bar. I am trying a workaround where I am taking everything off the toolbelt and storing in backpack before logging off. Checked for similar glitches, found your post. Now logging back on for a few minutes.

This is the exact situation that I have. After over 500 hrs of playing its about time to move along. This seems to be specific to local serve Co-op.

My favorite story is when it crashed on the 4x4 with my wife sitting shotgun. We log back in and she is still back at the base and I am where the 4x4 crashed (but no 4x4). I put my motorcycle down and continue to the trader. After 10 seconds on the motorcycle the game flashes and im in the 4x4 and my wife is teleported back to the 4x4 from the base (and lost her motorcycle that she was riding to get back). Then we shrug and keep riding to the trader. Once the 4x4 arrives at the location where i was on my motorcycle (which isn't there since I was teleported back to the 4x4), I teleported back on the motorcycle and my wife was still in the 4x4 sitting shotgun on a runaway 4x4. I tell her to bail out. I now am chasing a runaway empty 4x4 with my motorcycle. I catch up to it and try to jump off the motorcycle and do a James Bond move to get into the 4x4. When I jump off the motorcycle, the motorcycle disappears and I am actually ejecting from the 4x4 and I get run over and I start falling through the world and everything goes white. I guess I had my first near death experience.

When I log back I have no tool belt. It was quite a pain to remember all the mods.

This is my wife and I's favorite game. We love everything about it. Just finished 28 day horde at Lv104 with 1906 kills 2950 total kills. This type of event happens to us constantly. I might crash 4 times per game day. It is a shame. We want to play the game, not against it. It doesn't appear that the Fun Pimps can correct this issue. It be too large a challenge. I haven't even been able to find a single thread anywhere but here where it has been stated. Maybe we will check back in a few months.

Fun Pimps, if you see this message, please realize that this is from an avid fan. I loved all the new changes being done, however, we sadly are not really able to play anymore since we are a husband and wife gaming team.

Was on an online server, and it happened during an event the server was having. Not specific to local hosted Co-op mode now.. Best workaround is to unequip everything to your inventory from your belt when it happens, you don't lose anything that way.

I can see that... but I just want to play the game. I am constantly trying to figure out ways around bugs.

Another occurance of this made it so that the game didn't register ESC button or mouse look around after getting off motorcycle just today. Could unequip everthing but had to hard exit the game using task manager. Motorcycle was hovering above the ground when I came back to it. Have a screenshot..

Recently on my brother's server, I had the same exact thing happen to me. I was drive around in the truck normally and when I went to get out of it, I was completely locked in place right next to the vehicle. I could get back into the truck but couldn't access my inventory at all or turn around or move at all. But I could get back in the car and move around. So I left the server as well and came back to my whole toolbar gone with all my fully modded weapons and tools. We just quit that game which really sucked because of how far we made it.

Hope they can fix this one day.

Just here to report the same issue in case these are looked at. My bike got stuck in the ground, I couldn't interact with it at all so logged off thinking it was a server error. When I logged back in all my toolbar was gone. All the best gear. Happened minutes ago to still pretty pissed. Thanks game.

This just happened to me. Wasn't from getting off a bike, I had just teleported to someone with console commands and found I couldn't move at all. Was like WTF, the hell happened to my toolbar? Most ridiculous bug I've seen in the game so far, nothing this bad until now, this is pretty frickin' terrible lmao. Otherwise the game's been spared many bugs from similar games in the genre, but I've never seen anything like this man.

It's (allegedly, haven't tested it myself) fixed in 17.2, so let us hope for the best

Bump, just happened to me.

My friend was driving around in the truck while I went off to get dinner (sitting in the passenger seat.) I came back and found I was sitting in a gyrocopter and when I got out of the gyrocopter I couldn't select my tools. I shut the server down and found everything in my toolbelt was gone, my clothes were still on and my inventory was still there, but the items in my toolbelt were entirely gone.

I tried dying, shutting the server down again, etc, nothing worked.

A 18 build, PC version: I was on MiniBike riding then I think I jumped off and MiniBike went crazy and ran me over ? I eventually died and my Tool Belt was empty on Respawn, but my MiniBike was outside on grass. My ToolBelt completely empty of my Lvl 5 Wapons !!! Then it happened again on Bicycle much later, and now I have No weapons except the Spear !!! LOL Please Fix this Bug !!! I cannot keep decent weapons on Tool Belt now !!!
