Heat Resistant/Cold Resistant
Can someone help with how to determine this? I have been playing experimental for since A17 was out and I have never been able to figure out what the numbers mean. Right now I have 42 heat resistance. What does that mean? I can withstand temperatures up to 42 degrees? I have 42 resistance to what? That was one of the main things I wish they would have explained better. Clothes also have this arbitrary number. A poncho has heat reating of 12...okay what does this mean? Any help would be appreciated since the heat is kicking my butt but I like basing out of the desert Junk Yard.

higher the number higher the resistance, afaik there is no relation between the number and the same specific temperature (42 resistance and 42 degrees like you said).

if you're still hot need higher resistance, like a duster instead of the poncho. maybe better pants/shirt.

this guide shows the numbers: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1568874270

Pretty much, heat resistance helps you in the desert and cold resistance helps you in the snow. Worrying about the numbers isn’t worth it as it takes as much as you can get really to nullify the relevant temperatures. Without the perk that is.

Thanks guys...I kind of gathered that the higher the number it was better but I wish it was in temperature instead of a random number. I am on level 2 of the perk so I have that but still wish I knew how it correlated instead of just saying...the higher the number the better.

I think about 50 resistance is where it starts becoming a non issue to be in that place.
maybe less but that's about what I had when I had ,cowboy boots, t-shirt, shorts, duster
and cowboy hat and could finally walk around the desert for more that 30 seconds without
it being like I was trying to survive on the sun.

I think my biggest problem with it is how quickly it changes. Step on a block of snow and you’re freezing, step on sand next to it and you’re dying of the heat in 4 seconds. It’s a little overboard.

I agree....my guy starts overheating at 82 degrees....He would not last long in Texas.
