Guess that was one way to fix the dupe bug in multiplayer.

You can break it to get wood (really low) and I didn't know if that was changed but there
was also a chance to get plastic or even mecanical part (really low chance)
I just ignore them, not worth it.

Yeah I broke one down and got a mechanical part but its not worth the damage to your tool, at least not in the beginning of game and later on its even more pointless.

I was really annoyed with the whole zombies not dropping loot thing when I first heard about it. But after playing A17 for a few days, I have to say I like it. Garbage loot is relegated to garbage piles, and when a zombie does actually drop loot, its much more exciting. Plus, its kind of more logical that the walking dead aren't going to have a whole lot of loot on them.

As for the random boxes all over, I think its really just meant to be more filler. It makes the houses look better and more interesting, and it adds to the RPG feel of the game. Its also meant to work with the new zombie pathing system.

Basically just decoration. Definitely adds to the aesthetics quite a bit. I'm liking all the random stuff like that bringing more life to the houses and businesses we spend all this time looting. Going through various POIs is so much more enjoyable than it ever has been before.

The zombie loot thing it better too. You spent so much time picking through the bodies that now you actually can focus more on the task at hand, fighting the things. Not to mention you don't have to worry if that soldier zombie had anything good on him and risk looting him or having his stuff get lost to despawning. Not to mention no longer having gore piles slow you down and deform the terrain. The drops are great too. Dunno where she kept it, but the stripper I looted a moment ago gave me about three dollars short of $500. That pile is gonna sell nicely when I visit the trader. Not to mention getting a few forged steel and a small pile of forged iron long before I found a forge to use. Now I can keep a wrench in good repair (If I ever find one) as well as having gotten the forged Iron needed to finish my bike.

I was also hesitant about it at first, but after trying it, I really like this change. No more hunting bodies in the grass.

The random boxes stacked about give either parts, cement or wood, depending on which tool you use on them.:wololo:

They drop loot, its just somewhat rare, something like a 4% chance. It's usually pretty good loot when they do though, weapons, armor, schematics, and things of that nature. I like it, it's a lot less tedious. If I don't hear the la-chunk of a bag I can just move on, where as in A16 not only did you have to check each and every bag, most of the time it was just junk cloths, canned food, and other garbage that'd wind up in the scrap pile.

As for the boxes and bags in POI's, they're mostly for decoration, but also serve as an obstacle. Not only do they restrict your movement, they allow places to hide sleepers or other traps where you can't immediately see. That forces you to creep around, as you could easily turn a corner and find 5 zombies lying around the room.

all i did was change the drop rate chance so it was higher. zombies only have 3% chance of dropping a bag.

As others have said, zombies drop at a much lower rate but when they do it is usually stuff you actually need. Now on horde nights, when I see a big yellow bag drop I want it so have to make a choice on whether to risk the run and grab whereas before A17 I mostly assumed it would be crap so ignored it.

The boxes seem a bit useless loot wise but use a shovel on the blue bag or cement pallets and get free concrete and cobblestone. I had a full defensive tower built by day 14 without a forge or mixer.
