was also a chance to get plastic or even mecanical part (really low chance)
I just ignore them, not worth it.
As for the random boxes all over, I think its really just meant to be more filler. It makes the houses look better and more interesting, and it adds to the RPG feel of the game. Its also meant to work with the new zombie pathing system.
The zombie loot thing it better too. You spent so much time picking through the bodies that now you actually can focus more on the task at hand, fighting the things. Not to mention you don't have to worry if that soldier zombie had anything good on him and risk looting him or having his stuff get lost to despawning. Not to mention no longer having gore piles slow you down and deform the terrain. The drops are great too. Dunno where she kept it, but the stripper I looted a moment ago gave me about three dollars short of $500. That pile is gonna sell nicely when I visit the trader. Not to mention getting a few forged steel and a small pile of forged iron long before I found a forge to use. Now I can keep a wrench in good repair (If I ever find one) as well as having gotten the forged Iron needed to finish my bike.
I was also hesitant about it at first, but after trying it, I really like this change. No more hunting bodies in the grass.
As for the boxes and bags in POI's, they're mostly for decoration, but also serve as an obstacle. Not only do they restrict your movement, they allow places to hide sleepers or other traps where you can't immediately see. That forces you to creep around, as you could easily turn a corner and find 5 zombies lying around the room.
The boxes seem a bit useless loot wise but use a shovel on the blue bag or cement pallets and get free concrete and cobblestone. I had a full defensive tower built by day 14 without a forge or mixer.
