There's a lot more regular Z's around in a17.
But ALOT less than moded A16 or older versions with density settings.
Why was the option removed to begin with ?
We still have block durability choice and loot density. Why zombie density was removed?
I finished second horde on top of a roof. When I decided to go down to kill them all.... Suddenly it spawns a group of nearly 25 zombies with two screamers.. ;(
And sometimes while I'm harvesting resources.. boom... another group out of nowhere.
This is why it was fun when it was an option.
So those who want could tweak dificulty in the way they like....like with loot and block durability.
Personally, tt was nice walking into a city and seeing them all over the place and not just in POI's. Kinda made you plan your route of attack when trying to push deeper into a city hub/town. Now there's maybe a just handful scattered about w/ A17. All tho city hubs/towns seem borked atm w/ RWG.
My guess is they still have a lot more tweaking and adjusting to do in A17.
A17 has noticeable more roaming zombies.
This guy has a mod in his list of mod that tweaks the number of Z in wilderness to be higher.
It can be downloaded separately from the rest of his mods

I can't go into a single house without fighting for life each time, as houses have around 8 to 12 Zombies inside, each! Not even kidding.
One quest barn had 3 Normal zombies and 3 Ferals inside!
And they respawn at ridiculous rate. Not to mention that every 3, or 4 days I get a wondering horde of 12 to 20 Zombies. It's crazy!
