7 Days to Die

Death Debuff Destroyed the game
Having a realtime hour debuf destroyes the game play. I died once on day 1 then again on day 5 and got the debuff. It lasted until day 8. Which got my base totally destroyed on the day 7 hord because I couldn't do anything to stop them. Day 9 died again and got the debuff back. Day17 died again and got the debuff.

EXACTLY how long do you have to go without dying to not get the debuff EVERYTIME you die?
I have stoped playing the game until this and the many other bugs are fixed. Which might be a year and a half if the devs work at their normal speed and dedication to the game...

You get the debuff whenever you die and it lasts for 1 hour. It's hardly killed the game as if people don't like it they can change 1 number and change its duration.

Also its not going to last for 3 game days unless you've changed your game settings and made the days super short in which case you can adjust the buff duration as well.

See, it's not an issue if you actually have it to where a full in-game day passes in an hour. Want a quick solve? Don't die.

Learn from your deaths and start over from scratch every single time it happens. Don't make the same mistakes again. Try to do this without cheating. It's very tempting to avoid certain death by entering God Mode for a short period of time ;)

Currently you are probably better off dieing, at leat that way your gamestage wont get bumped for having the temerity to survive for 7 days and reward you with zeds, vultures, dogs and puking cops that will wreck you base in 2 minutes flat.

idea.... Make a hoard base. Dont use your primary base for hoard night. Be alitle more carefull looting. Be more aware of your surroundings. Death is a penalty.... A16 was way to easy. Change your game style.

No menu option for the debuff

Let's face it....if you're dieing that much to begin with, you weren't going to do squat to help your base on day 7 anyway.

Either you shortened the days, or your math is needing help. Debuff lasts one hour. Default game days are one hour.

It's in the xml.

Or, in game, do this:

Hit "F1"
Type: Debuff buffNearDeathTrauma
Hit "Enter"
Hit "F1"

You have to do it every time you die, if you chose that route. In your case, might want to bind it to a macro key, lol, lest you get carpal tunnel from typing it so often.

Would of taken less time to open the xml file and change one number, then it did to post a rant...

The debuff is merely annoying for me, but for the benefit of anyone who's curious, can you state which xml file it is and what line to edit in that file?

It's in Buff.xml, search for
<buff name="buffNearDeathTrauma"
or goto line 1685 and change the duration (in seconds) to the length of time you want the debuff to last.

I agree with the original post. It's unneccessarily punishing and this is what makes people not want to play games, spend all this time building up your character and this crap makes your stats go down for a fair while.

And you already lose all your items on the ground AND your stamina and health goes down, more isn't needed.

Easy enough to change in single player I guess, but not multiplayer.

Don't change it to zero, though, or it will never leave. Change it to "1", and it will only last one second. Default value is 3600 seconds, I believe.

Easy in multiplayer too. Have the host change it, and it will change for everyone.
