Zombie Loot Drops
Been playing lots of A17, love it.
Not happy wiht no loot drops from zombies, very disappointed and feel its very stupid. Understand the reduction in loot drops from before from zombies but since playing A17 not one zombie has yet to drop one loot bag.

Originally it was fun and a tactic to attack or expect certain loot drops from certain zombies. In fact, some zombies you might attack while others you would avoid based on thier loot drops. It was as I understood it THE POINT IN MAKING UNIQUE zombies. The nurse would drop medical supplies, the farmer would drop farming tools, not always but you understand what I'm saying thier uniqueness made you want to attack them for a higher chance of those type of items.

It is a very bad choice this addition, stupid in fact, I think. Whats the point now in gaving differnt types of zombies except for just asthetics.

Madmole as I understood it said zombies would "occaionally" drop loot. Looks like they don't drop any...
...any word if this just needs to be fixed, or was it made so they just don't drop anyting on purpose?

I'm all for a "slim" chance of loot but after over 200 zombies kills so far in a17 and not one loot drop I think its either broken or completely removed.

Tell them on the official forums on their website. The devs don't read Steam discussions.

It works, zombies have a small chance to drop loot.

Had one zombie drop loot during the first week. Guess what I found in it?

A rocket launcher.

You'd think getting hands on something only available so ridiculously late in the game that early would be cool, but no. Pure tradder fodder. And even if I was going to use it, it's so impossibly jarring to have no zombies drop anything and then all of a sudden drop something like that.

Less frequent loot is okay, a good chunk of it was mostly just junk. It should still happen every so often though and just ensure some decent gear, rather than be this 1% drop which guarantees a small arsenal of weapons every time. Like, really? Is that the only thing that could be "valuable" for a zombie to drop?

I like it. Hate looting thousands of corpses. Like finding nice surprises of ammo and weapons.

I have seen a fair amount of bags drop from the zeds, and amazingly the first zed i ever killed here in all of A17e dropped one, with a rocket launcher and some shells for it among other things.

Its all about how lucky or not you are, so just keep searching (erm...killing). :steamhappy:

I've gotten loot off of multiple zombies. You have to watch for them to drop a backpack when they die. It's really uncommon, but usually pretty good as a result.

Yes I understand the uncommon chance, I mentioned in my post. I like the fact that not every corpse needs to be looted. or has that option available. The chance or finding loot percentage should not be great, I'm suggesting its broken, or more than broken just needs to be increased slightly; tweaked. As I said, I have yet to see a drop after killing 100s of zombie.

It is probable that in your games 'loot chance' it might be effected but I have my loot chance at default or 100%

I'm ultimately saying it needs to be an increased chance. It doesn't even have to be 1 in 20 but again --- as i said better than 1 in 300. I really have no idea what they have it as but again as I said, have not yet seen ONE loot drop. Not one.

I thought the point I made of uniques zombies dropping unique items was a good point. Very surprised none of you or no one agreed. THIS WAS the TFP or Madmoles idea and it was a good one. I strongly feel this choice is not only a poor one but counterproductive to a fun and exciting adventure they are trying to create for the gamer.

As I said, originally that was the point in having unique zombies, otherwise its just asthetics and pointless to have a nurse, football player, farmer, soldier etc.

I tell you one thing I like or love among many many things in a17, the ability to recover arrows. It is an excellent addtion.

I find it funny these people who claim they love the rare dropping of loot in zombies. I guess they love just wasting ammo on them and not getting nothing in return. I mean in real life these people would have something on them before they died. I have over 1000 hrs on this game and the only thing I don't like is the loot drops.

Either you're unlucky or your game is bugged. I've had over 10 drops already, and I'm only on day 5 and level 23.

Sometimes you need to favour gameplay mechanics over realism. I personally like it this way. Loot from zombies is a lot more rare, but every time I do get some there's always at least 1 thing I want to take with me. Before, like 75% of the drops would be useless for me. Also, looting every single zombie got pretty tiresome fairly fast for me. Especially during horde night or when clearing out buildings with lots of spawns.

You get EXP in return. Loot drops are just icing on the cake. And they are good. Gone are the days of checking every zombie for garbage drops.

Zombie loot drops was broken a16. You could live off the drops and never have to go loot any POIs. (not counting the day1 pawnshops and crack a book)
Im superhappy they reduced it to near nothing, with the occasional gem of a gun or just a bottle of water.

And the dropchance is way better than 1:300 btw

It is more in the area of 1:30 -1:50 kinda hard to tell excactly cus bags are easy to miss when you fight a pile over a relatively large area, or if the bags despawn during BMs.

But you can keep a somewhat accurate measure if you keep track on both bags and killls

Nope, it's 6 in 300 (2%), the files have already been analyzed.

Personally I'm not a fan. 15% chance for an uncommon item would work just fine, but with current chances, zombies are just pure exp grind.

2% seems like a good drop chance for generally rare goods. Though zombies should get back their "personal" loot (skaters drop mechanical parts and hoodies, businessmen drop money and suits, etc) at a rate of probably around 10-15%. Maybe make it tied to when they spawn and give them a backpack.

I do like that you don't run around searching an entire horde just to get some paper and a can of peas, but the current system definitely gave the zombies less character and less purpose. Only reason you even pay attention to them anymore is because you really desperately need XP to get anywhere especially as a solo player.

I wounder if putting points into looting perk would make a difference to Zombie loot drops. I have had quite a few drops but the first thing I did was put points into looting and scav.
