More than just campfire!
It would be cool if we could have more than just 1 place to cook everything in the game.
Campfire should be useful just for first food recipes (grilled and boiled stuff), than we should be able to craft advanced "stations", like an electric stove or a gas stove, for advanced food recipes.
The actual situation is not congruous with the rest of the game.

Agree! That would be nice. I'd also welcome food spoilage, so that you'd have to have a fridge to keep your meat and cooked food fresh. We know it's doable without causing any problems, some mods have it. Don't know why it's not in the base game yet. Oh well, maybe someday

Game's hard enough as it is, don't you agree?

No. No, thanks.

Game's hard?? Dude, game's doin almost everything for you nowadays! It was hard in the early stages, up to alpha 15. You really had to work and always think twice, before you made any decisions, but now? Come on. I've all the stations and motorcycle by day 9. A concrete horde base and food for days. With a little bit of luck on rng, you 'll be endgame within 3 weeks.

No. Crafting an advanced cooking station is not "hard". C'mon. Game has technology, electricity, engines, sensors, but you cook on a pile of wood. This is weird.

Argonauth, do you have a minute to talk about your car's extended warranty?
Sagi-Shi Dec 20, 2019 @ 5:46am
yes

Yeah, I could get behind that. It did always seem a bit weird to me, which is why to make it fit my own personal version of reality I always build my campfires on top of stoves.

One could make a simple modlet wich adds a craftable, working stove. I added a recipe for that back in a15. I'd think there's already a few out there.. maybe? I don't know.

Agreed i started on A15 and honestly it was waay more hard than A18, you barely found guns in A15 not to mention ammo was rare too, meanwhile today you can find it almost instantly on you're first town you find on A18

lol, I've always done the same thing. It's so stupid that there are stoves everywhere, but you can't actually use them.

I’ve wanted something like this for a long while. Instead of limiting recipes by just the perks or schematic recipes we read, it would make a lot more sense to limit it by hardware. There are grills outside of houses all over. Turn that into a crafted cooking station and keep it wood burning, but change the hardware upgrade slots and what recipes can be cooked at one. Then make an electric oven/ stove the other recipes are cooked in. By making each station limit your available recipes and further doing so by limiting the hardware upgrade slots as well, they could remove the cooking perk entirely, leaving food perks to be just gathering ingredient buffs instead of recipe unlocks.

I miss the old days!
Spawnpoint in the middle of nowhere. If you made the wrong decision and headed the wrong direction, or didn't find a road right away, you could spend 2 days in the wilderness without finding a poi, drinking murky water with your bare hands just to stay alive and maybe a rabbit if you're lucky or live off of yucca or snowberrys, just to make it through another day in hope to find a town. Spend the night in a makeshift shelter and hear the zeds footsteps outside. No light, no sound! 😂 Found a cooking pot! Yay!!! I can boil me some water now! What a great day! What a struggle that was! But also fun!
The smell mechanic, hub city! Remember the hub city? Am I prepared enough to go there? That's where the good stuff was, but also cops and feral wights, dogs, bees and all kinds of nasty stuff! Lol! :)

Now you spawn right between 4 big towns and 2 or 3 traders. Only decision is wich poi I will choose to make it my home. Need money to buy food? Just do an easy dig-it-up quest! Weapons and ammo everywhere! Clothing? Not a prob, just loot a house! Or do another quest and buy some.
Nah, that's not hard! :D
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm really enjoying the electricity stuff, traps, vehicles and all that, but in my opinion they made the game way too easy on the survival side.

I don't get what all these "the game is already too hard" people are talking about.
I tried 18.1 with a friend, by day 20 we had motorcycles, a virtually infinite gas supply, a steel base, almost 24/7 bullet production capacity with a stockpile of around 4000 bullets. We had a small plantation of potatoes and mushrooms on the top of the base with ten times more food than we could eat. I would recommend people to completely avoid planting anything because plantations completely kills the difficulty of the game, crop growth rate should be 10 times longer.

Even in my SP game with maximum looting I didn't advance that fast. And, endgame in 3 weeks isn't what most people would call easy.
This game is so easy, it's hard to describe how easy it is. We're advancing so fast, that the second world in a row, we get demolishers on day 28. We're getting fat off meat stew. We only chamber AP rounds.

I'll give you a nickel's worth of free advice - move faster. If you aren't looting six houses per day, or an HQ in 1.5 days, you're moving too slow. Every time you hit the trader, hit his vending machine. Keep money in your bike, so you can hit vending machines throughout the world. Break down all office chairs, TV's, etc. Pick up and scrap all wooden chairs. Axe all cloth couches. Break all blinds. Shovel all cobble and cement pallets. Chop all boxes.
