what mods to put on Wrench?
so i want my wrench to have the best mods so it collects lots of loot and does quick work of it.

structural brace, i put it on cos then the wrench last longer,
iron breaker, so it does more dmg against metal?
one dye, just because?
ergonomic grip
bunker buster , cos dmg more(i want something better there.)
Any way to make more than 49 block dmg?

You don't want to raise damage, AFAIK you'll actuall collect less even if you destroy things quicker.

wait really?

They changed up how the wrench works THAT MUCH?

Because in 16.4 a more powerful wrench gathers more unless you overdamage so ridiculously much you skip phase 2 entirely (only possible in modded)

I said AFAIK because there's been a discussion about some bug about the materials you get while (e.g.) mining, where the more damage you do the more the yield goes down.

But I didn't test it on the wrench so I'm not sure if it's the same there.
You should probably test it with and without mods and see what happens...

Is there a way to increase the speed of the knob turning animation for the wrench? while keeping the same damage.

I know this post is pretty old and you have probably moved on from this need and also may have figured it out already but you could also equip the Diamond Blade Tip mod, which doubles the melee weapons, ie the wrench, durability.

Was looking around for this same kind of information and ran across this post.

Diamond Blade Tip mod wasn't added until October of this year. This thread wasn't even the same alpha version, as you can tell by the dye not having its own mod slot from back when it added damage.

I get that this thread is old, but it's not too obsolete. The main things to note for nowadays is that wrench damage doesn't effect the amount of resources, and I'd swap out the Bunker Buster for Wood Cutter because it seems to affects things with a "thud" sound effect like large beds (wrench normally does 1/2 damage to these things).
