Whats the point of looting POI's anymore?
just spent 300 AK shots, 150 magnum shots, 6 medkits, died 5 times, 9 painkillers, in a hotel style base with spikes around it.... in return I got literally nothing of use a few crappy pistols, customized fitting armor mod, and about 10% of the ammo i used in return...

probably killed close to 75 irradiated and 50 runners countless more normal zombies with bow

What exactly is the incentive to loot poi's now?

The mountain of Exp you earned killing all those Zombies.

basically you reach a gamestage now where looting is ABSOLUTELY POINTLESS, TFP really didn't think that through properly. Lategame exp is useless and ammo spent vs reward is literally not worth the trouble at all, it is not even at the point where it could be worth a little trouble. It is literally NOT worth it at all....

The challenge.

Try multiplayer then, my team and i are at day 245, and we HAVE to loot or we cannot
make enough ammo to survive bloodmoon. Or try playing at a harder level. Easy is..
afterall.... easy. For me personally easy is boring after day 2.

Yeah, I already pointed this out. A few minutes mining oil shale or iron, then crafting iron tools or gas barrels to sell, gives much more xp and dukes than an entire day looting a large poi. They have very severely unbalanced the game in response to a few people saying they don't want to have to fight anything to level up and make money.

+1 to baddoggs answer ... :)

Funny part is that a player could have avoided the POI and used 10 campfires to summon a screamer (on his terms back at base) and have spent less ammuntion and quite possibly gotten some loot bags (5% for tougher zombies, 3% for not-so-tough).

Furthermore, players who set zombies run speed higher than JOG (for instance) is forcing themselves to combat zombies with range weapons, when they don't understand that ammuntion expenditure is inversely proportional to run speed ... :P

Attacking zombies on their own turf (POI)?
Answer ... Creat a quest to "clear zombies", a quest that is designed by the player and balanced by the player. Forget about the loot in the boxes, not everything is going to give a player a balanced loot under RNG rules, of course unless the player changes their own loot proc for a particular level.

No. Solid fact is, XP per game hour for mining is many times higher than looting, or even screamer farming. Try it. Just mine iron for an hour, get about 20 to 30k XP. Go looting and get about 10k xp, and about 1/10 the dukes value. I've already measured the averages carefully for many hours of looting.

Oh yeah, no doubt mining gains wonderful XP, which leads me to ask the question as to what this thread is really about.

Apparently burning up resources to attack an opponent (for whatever reason) isn't something new to gaming. Eventually we all have to build a nuke weapon but it's not gonna come cheap, and clearly looting isn't the reward.

What's the point of looting? The point is meaningless, and not everything has to have a meaning unless we want to play Duck Hunt and get a cookie for level completion with happy music and fan fair and medals handed out ... do we? (question not directed at you Jimmy).

Qest rewards became very poor in B9, making them proficcient only on early game stages, when you can buy many food for quest money. Lategame quests is a waste.

if youre going through POIs using guns...youre doing it wrong.
save your bullets for horde night or emergencies when you get swarmed.

Yeah. I craft some items and sell 'em to traders. Playing on impossible and doing quest mean you need to deal with greens in 99,9%. Well if you play on easy/normal, it's okey, you can kill 'em just with wooden club or oneshot them from stealth with arrows. Did you seen quests tier 3-4-5? They throw you in giantic skyscrappers, filled with zombies like ants.

Yea but that doesnt mean u should get those quest, the only quest worth taking are the hospital and shotgun messaiah factory, hospital is an easy T5 quest while The Factory would supply u a mother of arsenal to sell for more dukes to the trader.

I use lv6 shotgun fully moded with rad remover loaded with normal shell and its pretty ammo sufficient.

Come on gentlemen (those that think quests a waste, blah blah) ....

TIER VI quests are currently remarked out (in xml). Yeah, that means it's WIP. We can probably have TIER unlimited in the future.

Instead of saying "it's a waste", "it's pointless" ... How about everyone come up with some ideas that are worth something instead of stating the obvious all the time ... geez .. :P

Hey ... Maybe a quest can give us a cool helicopter? Well maybe not, because some folks think we should be able to craft a multi-million dollar BlackHawk .. haha that always opens a good can of worms in the discussion forum ... someday.
