A sports team has a certain number of players and they all perform a role, adding 20 more players on the same team wont make them better it will just cause chaos and confusion.
+1.
Made me laugh :)
Check out "The Mythical Man-Month" by Brooks to learn exactly why and how this applies to software development. It's a great, quick read.
On the other hand, you can harvest a field of wheat in about 1/9th the time by going from 1 to 9 people :).
Does that include training and safety seminars ? Does it include the management time b4 had to purchase more tools and lay out the plan for all the new ppl on thier individual responsibilities and areas of work ?
Plus all the risk assessments and PPE.
@DominantEye. Thanks it looks interesting. I'll give it a read.
This is pretty much how it works in any project. Software, house painting or whatever.
You can't pile on more personnel than the available work to be done.
Finally there are 8 internal testers. There would have been 9 but the developers know that old adage about having a baby as well...
There is no centralized building where The Fun Pimps Studio resides. The programmers and artists and animators and sound people and testers all live in various places all over the world but they all communicate with each other every day. I am fortunate enough to have access to their channel where they communicate and I can tell you they are hard working and passionate about this game. They all love what they do and have great rapport with each other and whenever someone is blocked from progressing one what they are trying to do because of a bug resulting from something someone else has done they work fast to clear those things up even if it is a Sunday night. They are all great guys.
Hope that helps.
Do any actual research on games development, etc and you'll see why I say this (taking the span of this game, what's been created, length, etc).
Did you bother to read the post directly above yours ?
