But anyway it is music and often it doesn't even matach events happening around the player. Ambient sounds are waer running, birds chirping, as in the ambient sounds of the eviornemnt. :)
Every version I try with Ambient Sounds on, until I hear distinct traceable sounds that repeat so often and so loudly a real person would be able to trace them to a source easily [i.e. not ambient] (and thus make no sense {example the old phone ring or baby crying or musical elements}).
As of Alpha 16.4 I still play that way and I doubt it will change with A17 since they've not yet mentioned giving sounds and remixing ambient sounds a new pass/change.
I do hope that it does get improved at some point because it would be nice to hear the environmental sounds that should be a part of different areas such as the way air/wind would sound different in different areas.
You know what's scary? being out at night and suddenly a random horde pops up in your face.
I'd love to be able to hear rain sound and other stuff too, just not the dumb spoopy sounds.
I found the thread where I got them. It was from August of '17 so it might still be from A16.4? Hopefully that would mean the files are the correct ones but there's also a link and instructions to do it yourself. https://7daystodie.com/forums/showthread.php?71741-How-to-remove-bg-spooky-music-at-night
But it would be better if a slider would let you turn that down without affecting the actual ambient sound stuff. Right now the music adjustment just controls the menu music.
