[GUIDE] - Simple Dedicated Server Install and Setup
How do you setup a dedicated server! Look no further!

Here's a simple guide for how to get it installed, and configured ready to play!

1) Open steam!
2) Access the tools to display the 7DTD dedicated server.
3) Hit install!
4) Wait.. wait...
5) Done!

6) Change folder location? Why on earth?
7) Access serveradmin.xml and configure!
8) Run the game through startdedicated.bat
9) Telnet to connect!
10) Verify and shutdown!

11) Tips on how to error check and verify the downloaded files!

:D Yeah it's great feedback, do appreciate it. Will have to do that going forward, as maybe plenty of my other videos I posted weren't viewed either for people who didn't catch that it was a link :)

Noob question: Do I need to have a server if I just want to play a game with a specific friend, or can I host on my own machine?
yes you can, just create the game with the appropriate settings so he can join.

You can host it through the client itself, just start a MP game. It's easier, but comes with some performance downsides, and as I mention in the video, if your client goes down/crashes, so does the whole server. But it works well for when you're just getting started! :)
