Screamer Spawn Issues
So all of the sudden my game is giving me this:

INF AIDirector: Scout Spawning Failed, FindHordeTargets() returned false!

I am getting this several times in a row. I am at my base where screamers have never had an issue spawning, LOL! I don't see any zeds or screamers until I leave and come back to my base. I am not at bedrock level. I am outside my house farming and such.

Is this anything I need to worry about like my map is getting ready to hose or something? Thanks!

Try verifying the game cache from Steam.
If it's a corrupted game though it's bad and you may need to start from scratch. :-|

Yeah I did that after my post. Still getting it. I don't mind not seeing screamers for sure but I worry my game is hosed. Wandering hordes spawn on me if I am out gathering items from Departure but nothing spawns at my base unless I go to my base, log out and log back in. Ugh.... I am on day 322 so I really hope it's just some small glitch.

I don't mod and play the game toally vanilla so it isn't that. Also my base is not underground. I do have a mine under my house but I only go down there on BMs if I don't want the hassle.

I just remembered something that happened yesterday. I was clearing out an area at Departure and I guess a zed hit a car and it blew up. After that the zeds were all halfway under ground and when I walked through the area I went in the ground as well even though it didn't show a hole. Could that have glitched something? Nothing else strange comes to mind that could have caused an issue.

By chance do you only have 8GB or RAM on your PC? Almost sounds like you are running out of memory. I will admit my experiences with the game have never been in SP as I have my own server. The game needs 6GB of RAM and if you have only 8 then you do not have a lot of room for the game or the rest of the open processes to use more than they may normally.

Thing is if you have a lot done in the game then that is I believe all loading into RAM. This is why games that allow player building seem to need more RAM than say Call of Duty or GTA.

Just something to consider I could be completely wrong.

If it is an isolated error, no need to worry all that much

If you want to test if screamers are still working, go away from your base, and light on some campfires (5 or 6 at the same time should trigger a screamer quite fast...)

Dont bother too much about a glitched zombie either
Zombies spawn, but also despawn, a lot

At worst, exit and reload
You should do it on a regular basis anyway, if only to clean the map and keep Ram usage under control
Good time to backup the save too...

Nah RAM isn't an issue. I agree it acts like RAM is maxed but I don't have anything running when I play.

PC specs:

Asus X99-E WS
Intel i7-5960X CPU (Water Cooled)
32GB RAM
GTX980Ti Classified ACX 2.0+(SLI)
Windows 7 x64 SP1

If I'm not terrible mistaken, it seems that you were in area that doesn't allow screamer spawning for whatever reason, eg. body of water in the spawning range or being underwater when screamer should spawn etc. In any case your map should be fine, the "issue" is isolated to the regions near your base as far as i know.

I took a screen shot of my map with an arrow showing my base. I literally have been getting screamers every 4-5 minutes non stop since I have been in the desert. The error and no screamers started yesterday. I will enjoy the quiet while I have it. As long as my map is good all is well in Navezgane! :)
