IRON vs. STEEL Arrows/Bolts
Guys, can someone tell me if steel arrows and steel crossbow bolts are more effecient to use than their iron counterparts? Obviously they do more damage, but is the damage really worth the materials?

Accourding to the wiki:
1 Iron Arrowhead = 2 Iron (forge)
1 Steel Arrowhead = 5 Iron (forge)

Steel arrow heads seems very costly, so I want to find out at least if they're significant enough for more than double the materials used.

._. i know, but i'm asking if they're worth it. More damage = yes, more significant = ???

depends on your sircumstances, if you play on pvp, yes the increased cost is worth it (imo). if on single or pve i wouldnt worry about steel if your short on supplies, iron are still way better than stone.

Iron is easy to get. I'm never short on iron after day 2- Always Steel once you have it.

Steel arrows don't do double the damage of iron, so they aren't as efficient in terms of resources and damage.

However, the additional damage may mean the difference between needing an extra hit or two to finish off a zombie, and that could be the difference between dying or not.
Thank you for the answer guys. Your opinions are appreciated. I think I know what I'll use now :)

Not to mention Explosive Bolts require steel bolts if I recall, so if you're going that route.. there ya go

ironArrow
<property name="EntityDamage" value="20,35"/>
<property name="BlockDamage" value="3,5"/>
<property name="Velocity" value="55"/>
<property name="ApplyBuff" value="0.35,0.35" param1="arrowCriticalBleedout"/>

Steel arrow
<property name="EntityDamage" value="20,45"/>
<property name="BlockDamage" value="5,8"/>
<property name="Velocity" value="75"/>
<property name="ApplyBuff" value="0.5,0.5" param1="arrowCriticalBleedout"/>

so in lamens terms Steel arrows fly faster, deal more max damage and have better chance to cause bleeding on impact. its up to you to decide if the 10 potential extra damage is worth twice the cost in iron though. Imho it depends on your supply of iron (which aint a problem when you start some proper minining operation to dig iron ore veins). and assuming you can make the steel which both requires some leveling aprox lvl 40 - so at usually its okay to use iron head for some time and then switch to steel ones when you can.

Well I plan to use them in the future once I figure out how to choke zombies together in 1 point for maximum effeciency and satisfaction from blowing them up. Explosive bolts are definitely worth it IMO but as for steel? I think it's situational based on the opinions of others.

I haven't gone far enough to make an underground base or mine an iron vein like the ones in youtube hahaha. Sad me, but thanks for enlightening me. I guess it all depends on timing whether or not I should switch to steel or stick with iron.
