Chickens?
In my 105 hours of gameplay in this game I have not come across 1 chicken. I have a quest which includes killing one. Seriously, where are they?

I seem to find most in the plains biome, I would reccommend searching there

I concur with those two above me. Desert, grassland biomes are your best bet. But like the rabbit, it jets pretty quickly and disappears in vegetation easily. Other than just to say you saw one, I wouldn't worry as much about them (unless you're playing with zombies off) as the undead birds will find you, and you can get a decent amount of feathers off them rather than worrying about the chicken. If meat is the issue, focus on deer, pigs and wolves (bears if you can handle them).

You missed the only important word in the 2 sentences he said... quest.

Yes, it's for the quest. Else I'd just loot the bird's nest for feathers. And I have lived in the city and plains biome before. Tbh, quest or not I am still surprised that I haven't saw a chicken yet in my 105 hours of gameplay XD I literally don't know what 7DTD chicken looks like.

I recommend putting your grass draw distance to minimum while doing quests like that so you can see the chickens/rabbits and such further away without the grass interfering with your view. It also helps in finding all those backpack/dufflebag loot containers. :steamhappy:

That's a very good tip :steamhappy: but I already set it to minimum to optimize my framerate hahaha. I still see no chickens though :steamsad: I think the RNG of the game is messing with me. I even edited the XML files to increase the spawn rate of animals. I think it's just my luck, which sucks even IRL :luck::steamsad:

Remember for the quest you have to kill the chicken with the nailgun too....

edit - actually that depends on WHICH quest you need the chickens for lol

My quest is to kill a list of animals. 1 of each species. A bear, a stag, a boar, a rabbit, and a chicken. I've also got a separate quest on killing a rabbit with a sawed off shotgun (don't have that weapon yet) which I think should be easy, but if I get a quest where I'll have to kill a chicken with a nailgun then I probably won't be able to complete it XD hahahahaha.

Seriously, I've seen wolves, dire wolves, bears, boars, rabbits, some snakes and zombie voltures, but not once have I seen a chicken in game.

Yeah I have the same quest. Chickens is my last one to find in the group too.
I saw one once. It ran away so fast I couldn't track it. Haven't seen any since :(
Ohh, so sad :steamsad:. I also read in the wiki that they're extremely evasive and have a really tiny hitbox.

there's always F6 - drop 25 and get your Elmer Fudd on.

the best way to kill a chicken is with a melee weapon, they are not as fast as the rabbit and you can catch up to them

Lololol that sounds fun :steamhappy: but I'd avoid that though. I want to avoid using cheats for this game unless I'm testing things out.
