If you check in the list of items you can produce, you can produce iron, clay, rock, broken glass, brass, lead, etc. It'll take a fairly long time to output since it's one material at a time, but if you try to move it with the materials still melted inside you'll definitely lose those mats. Also make sure you remove your anvil/crucible/tool & die set or they'll get trashed as well.

Yes, you'll need to empty it out first.:HappyMask::wololo:

Materials are still lost for sure, but I accidentally moved a forge without getting anvil/crucible and they were put in my backpack when I picked the forge up

Not sure how that happened...I've lost the Anvil/Crucible/Tool and Die Set when I forgot to remove them before relocating my Forge...a couple of times.

Are you playing a mod? Or perhaps it was just a good glitch :)

No not modded though I did forget to change out of the experimental I was using after I started playing again and this may have been why, it was a week ago.
