Report a translation problem
I already looked into the sound.xml and found the sections labeled "volume" and the note as to what that does. What I took away from it was that it wasn't "player related volume" but "volume" related to triggering zombie AI to wake up. I guess I'll give it a try and edit it anyway.
This is the note from the devs in the sounds.xml about volume:
volume: volume of the sound which can trigger AI wake
I am about to try and edit it now anyway and see what happens, will report back shortly.
Edit, changed the volume setting for shotgunfire and sawedoffshotgunfire to reduce it by half, perceived volume by the player has not changed. Have not tested this with another person in the world so can't speak for that, but the guns sounded just the same to me.
