Roar, do you have a file path for reference? I can't find any save files like what you describe.
2. Failing that the file path for me is ( ThisPC > Local Disk(C:) > Users > (Name of comp/or whatever) > AppData >Roaming > 7daystodie > Saves > RandomGen
I hope that somewhat helps. (Couldn't figure out what it was called after Users because mine was just my name lol)
That's really, really strange. I can't find a file path even remotely resembling that. I do have in-game files under a different directory, but it still should be similar.
My in game files path like this: Local Disk(E:)>Steam>steamapps>common>7 Days to Die
That path is about as far as I can go. I don't see any AppData, Roaming, or Saves files. I see a folder called "Data" with some files in there, but no save files.
It seems like everyone's paths are different from mine regardless of reinstallation.
in the address bar type the following without quotes: "%AppData%\7DaysToDie"
You should see you launcher settings files, and the saves folder.
Thanks to both of you wonderful human beings. Finally found it. I have no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ clue why the Pimps decided to make it a HIDDEN folder in an entirely different directory. That is the most ass backwards piece of coding I have ever seen. I really hope someone brings that up with the Pimps because that is the most infuriating load of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I've ever seen.
Thanks again for ya'll's help.
Save file is overwritten each time we exit the game, and there's only the one per game world ( unlike a game like say, Skyrim where you can save multiple times and multiple files ) So nope. Periodic backups are the only way.
