Changing private server to public server using password

I have no clue if this is asked or was asked propwely, but I'm trying to switch my private server me and my friends are playing on to a password public server so they aren't waiting for me to log in.

Everthing is default only thing I changed was mods was on & cheats too. If it's just a switch in the settings from private to public I did switch that but can't confirm it since I am unable to change the name of the server.

Please help..........

is it a rented server or one you started from the game, if its a non rented one just need to change the part where you vput a pass in to public. You dont need to change the server name, If your renting one should have been given the details , mine is a rented server and all i do to change the pass is alter the xml file

As long as the server is on/loaded, they can connect regardless of you being on or not. They'll just need your IP/port. Speaking from experience.

@Green77 where do I rent server's and I assume its a cost to rent a server

@Praesidium I assume the IP/port is the network (sorry its been a while since I've done the whole IP stuff)

I'm on a fairly low cost server [$10/mo]. 7DTD has a list of servers to rent in the menu. A google search for 7DTD servers will get you many more. I choose a page that does comparisons of services.
Are you abandoning your current setup? Or are you still interested in changing private to public?

well i would love to keep my private server me and my friends are on cause we put in alot of time all together and to start over would be a pain since we are passed our 21st day.

I was just curious if there was an easy way to make that private server public but still private using a password so the 3 of use can jump on when we needed to to make new changes and go out getting resources

Private and public, hmmmmm I dont think there is any such thing... You do realize they are opposite things. You`ll have to make up your mind. And 21 whole game days invested huh? As you play and get better you`ll see that 21 days is not that much investment. Start over, try some new ideas. Starting over is half the fun. change up the seed too.
