Repair kits too easy to make
Anyone else think the repair kit is way to easy to make now?

No, because you use the darned things for EVERYTHING~~~

They are easy to make, but considering anything and everything of value requires them for repairs, I think it's important that repair kits remain fairly accessible.

No, you need a lot of them so having it be a fiddly thing to make would be bad. I don't make a lot, i find them a often and i burn through the about as fast keeping my stuff working.

Ya, they are to easy to make. You also find them, on normal loot setting, in large amounts sometimes.

I'm notsure why repairing is still a thing if they make repair kits such a none issue. Baring the few times you might have to switch weapons, or open your inv up and repair in the middle of a fight, if ya forget to, I dont see the use of them anymore.

Proposed solution:

Repair kits only repair a certain amount of durability (and possibly less when the item material tier is higher?). That way you do not increase the need for them in the very early stages while adding a slightly more relevant ressource sink when your items get better.

you can say the same for food... but there will be times you find yourself low on both repair kits and food...if you plan ahead the game appears to be easier than it actually is. if you slop your way around. you will eventually pay for it... try playing dead is dead one time..and it might give you a bit more excitement and trepidation.

It does seem odd that they don't need oil and duct tape.
I love that they fully repair items with one use. I also love that most items use them to repair.

But they are made from duct tape?

Food takes some prep work, either thru looting, farm, or making the dukes to buy. Sure once you get a farm or are floating in dukes, food becomes a none issue. Before that tho, starting out, food can be scarce sometimes, or take actual seeking it out. There is a feeling of progression there.

From the start now, repair kits are a none issue. The way they used to be, there was a point they also became a none issue, but you had to work/prep to that point. So there was a feeling of progression.

Iv not made a single one and I have like well over two hundred of them stockpiled, I imagine the loot table for them will be nerfed at some point - finding 10-25 of them at a time in big reward POIs is kinda nuts.

Tools and weapons that require "parts" (ie - bow/crossbow parts, pistol parts) should also require those same parts to repair. This would make tier 1 stuff more useful, scrap it for parts to repair your better quality stuff. As it is, I think most everyone scraps the tier 1 stuff anyways and sells the parts, as the parts net more dukes than the item itself. The items that don't require parts would still use repair kits. Repair kits should require some amount of mechanical parts, maybe even some electrical parts, as well as the duct tape and forged iron.

They somehow managed to completly obliterate the repair system...
BEfore it was not great, but now its a freak.
Better remove durability and repairkits alltogether now.

Weren't the old gun repair kits almost as easy? They were the same as now but also needed oil and cloth, both very easy to obtain in large amounts. The main differences is those only worked on guns, and now they're needed for pretty much everything. I like it better this way, we don't need to keep our inventory filled with random resources for repair, we can just make or loot a bunch of kits.

The key difference is that now they repair 100% while before they only did a certain amount. Maybe they could expand them to basic, normal, and advanced repair kits which repair 33%, 66%, or 100% item durability. Basic kits might be iron & tape, normal might be iron tape cloth oil, advanced steel tape leather and mechanical parts.

Just a thought. I'm actually happy with how they are now.

I'm good with it.

OP forgot previously we got literally 10 or less items that required them, while at the moment its easily ~100 that use them and we do use them all.
