Report a translation problem
My idea was more of an upgrade for the burning zombie we have now: it would be cool if the feral version would explode in a burst of flames (like a Molotov) if killed. That's all. :-]
I'd have just a few suggested tweaks - first, on all "explodey" zombies there should just be a chance they will blow. Could be 50/50, could be 70% chance, but not every time. I like the randomness and gambling aspect of that.
Also, if we're talking flamethrower and grenade carrying soldiers, I'd like to see there also be a chance that melee damage can cause an explosion, but at a delay. You know, like you punctured the gas tank and a high whistling hiss sound indicates it's about to get very napalmy in the vicinity, or you knocked a grenade loose from its pin and now the loud ticking gives you a "here comes the boom" warning of a few seconds. Attacking all of the bomber types with flames or burning weapons should also increase the chance of demolition occurring dramatically.
It becomes interesting, because you could technically use the kaboomers to tactical advantage in hordes, if done right. You could also get overwhelmed while melee wading through the horde and knocked senseless or dead by one going off in the mob. It expands the scope of combat tactics with the random possibilities.
But that's a single type, with very specific focus and behaviors. The OP had some more broad ideas for different types of exploding zombies, which I found interesting. On top of your idea for a feral burning zombie blasting when it dies, heh.
