But with it comes twice the work, twice the resources, and twice the length for vehicles.
My current base uses wedges to get up 26 blocks, and I haven't had to repair it yet using reinforced concrete. That would be one long ramp and a lot more supports if I did it with a shallower slope.

I'm not really sure how the new system works, but it probably won't require that much more time. For the applications I want it, it will actually require fewer resources. I can deal with a dirt road, but I really want to have a wedge house that doesn't look ridiculous. I think the 4-block system will still look off, but it's obviously (twice as)better.
The ramps on Navezgane were destroyed in no-time, during my playthrough. I upgraded them to reinforced iron, but they still wouldn't last long. I didn't want to spend all of my time digging to make concrete or repairing the wedges(I switched out the ramps for wedges, which were better.) I did eventually get them to concrete, though.
