Report a translation problem
I've noticed that sometimes it takes a game a bit to "notice" when something is inadequately supported... try leaving your area of experimentation and then come back, see what happens.
The material I'm using rebar frames- then concrete pouring- then settle- after upgrade to steel.
The tricky part is when reinforced concrete appears. It has less structural integrity then rebar or steel blocks and funny stuff happens(collapse)
I looked in Navesgame at the far bridge- they did it like this: 2-p-2-p-2-p-2 (p-pillar) so the road width is 11 blocks supported by 3 pillars. The length is 7 blocks then again 3 pillar row.
In my random map I was trying 7-p-7 setup with 9 block length- it crashes. In math I did i can do such a structure with 4 blocks apart like this:
7-p-7 and 4 block length- repeat- buut thats not aestheticly pleasing(looks garbage). I noticed i can do 5-p-5 and 12 block length however its a bit narrow.
I guess without using 4 pillars (4 points/joints) this is not possible. 2 pillar/joint system just does not work :(
This is over deep water. Thats why fewer pillars was/ is the main priority as its a pain to dive to bedrock(without cheating). You know you got a house in a big lake and a nice road/ bridge thing.
On land sure- using extra support and once upgraded to steel- very very doable.

Haha tried that- it collapses either way. :)
The whole SI system in this games makes me sometimes cry as in real life this would be possible but here you try try and it fails bad.

So I tossed out my single pillar plans out the window. Went with 2 pillar system. As expected with 4 joins/points(anchors) the SI system is working correctly now.

From the picture you can see the Bridge section width is 15 blocks and Length is 17 blocks.
Like this: 3 - p - 7 - p - 3 (p-pillar). From experience you can have a length of 16 blocks- thats the max integrity but from my playthroughs upon game loading sometimes the game engine freaks out and cuts out the 16th block. When it does that your building falls down. 15 Length is perfectly safe (for finished steal)
How to build this without crashing:
* You start with the 4 pillars(dsnt matter what block- a pillar is a pillar 1 block space)
* Then you hook them up in rectangular. You have to do this first as the SI system takes its measurements from this rectangular.
* I am using rebar- so once the concrete sets upgrade it to steel(in my picture i went all out to polish steel)
* Once and only once you have a steel frame build/fill it from inside out. In 7D2D Si system starts counting from inside out so thats why we build also from inside out.
* At this point you should not have strange integrity issues(steel frame connected to pillars is a must).
* After you have finshed last thing to do is to upgrade it all to steel(only steel blocks have 16 mass) and if you may- paint it! Start another bridge section and off you go!
If you have a creative soul- you can add detail blocks- from the funpimp Navesgame picture(see above)- for example have your bridge floor 3 blocks thick- or add ramps or polls or whatever you like. The structure should be solid at this point.
