So when you put your back to a place where one is supposed to spawn but hasnt, it can spawn now, and appears and attacks. same thing when you go up stairs and back down and suddenly theres more zombies. I always wait a moment outside, breaking apart a car or something, then go in, sweep through the building to the roof, and then sweep back down, and THEN loot.
You could also go in, look around, step back out to the street, and then go back in, and it should spawn all/most of them. Few different workarounds.
That said.. If you take out the wandering hordes (Which it would at least be nice if they didnt 90% of the time walk straight TOWARDS where you were when they spawned), and sleeper zombies, theres basically no zombies left in the game. May as well just turn them off at that point.
Dogs are on the list of approved zombies.
Some buildings spawn dogs more often than others (small hardware shops, barns).
And yes, building spawning is still broken. You can clear the building and instantly have another spawn. That needs to be fixed. Once you clear a building, the only zombies that should appear are through the front door.
They are working on the proximity spawn issue from what I hear.
