Creepy Whispering?

Hey guys! I've been playing 7 Days for about a year and a half now. I was recently in one of my worlds only on day 22. I was just randomly building and suddenly I hear a loud almost demonic whisper that sounded like my name at first (probably a coincidence) followed by heavy breathing. It scared the hell out of me. I've played this game A LOT since I got it and have NEVER heard anything like it. I recently installed the Valmod Mod, not sure if it has anything to do with it. The whispers happened again a minute later and sounded a bit different this time around. Then it just stopped. I know whispers used to be a thing in the game when it was first introduced but I thought they removed them. I could use an explanation because that was the creepiest ♥♥♥♥ I've ever heard.

What explanation do you need? Scary ambience in a horror game.

It's exactly what you think it is. It's there to creep you out.

I just want to know if anyone else has heard it recently? Like I said, I've been playing it for a year and a half and have never heard anything like it. Did they add it back into the game in general or is that something the Valmod Mod added?

I think it's the mod I've not heard any kind of whisper in this game for as long as I've played it so either it's the mod or maby just rare. ey, remember when trees could kill you if you was touched by them after they got cut down?

Yeah, it must be the mod then if other people haven't heard anything. I didn't have any other tabs open either. It was just freaky as hell and I hope I don't hear it again. And yeah I do lol. I wasn't actually playing the game at the time, but I watched people play it. Funny from a viewer's perspective but definitely annoying for the player. Glad they fixed that!

The whispers used to be in Vanilla, think it was only in the burnt biome though. Never used Valmod myself, but I suspect that is indeed where you are getting the sfx from.

Did you have Valmod installed when you heard it or was it vanilla?

I thought so. I was just in a normal forest-y area though so it totally threw me off guard. There's usually nothing creepy about that biome.

I had a similar thing happen. Then I realized it was my friend in discord whispering screamo music.

10/10, would be terrified of friend's daddy issue music again

I hear it randomly in SOME games. Haven't heard it in a coupla weeks now. Nobody else in this house has heard it, but my gf's hearing isnt the greatest.

I am playing A20 and periodically I hear some form of whisper. At first I thought it was a zombie but as I look around there are none. Definitely a cool feature they added.

can't say i've heard any whispering, but imo its not something that really fits the game, if we were hunting demons or something it would fit but this is a post apocalyptic zombie universe so not sure why this would be part of the ambient audio, it just doesn't make sense to me for a creepy whisper to be there. like i said i've not heard these particular sounds in my games.

Things have changed a lot in the 4+ years since this was posted. Currently there are a number of dynamic audio tracks that play in certain situations, including background sounds like footsteps, tapping, doors opening and such. imo they range from creepy to just plain silly.

I heard something similar the second week while building the base at night. exploring the burnt biome I hear screams sometimes but never see them.

I just now heard it in a house basement. No mods.

*edit* Also hearing what sounds like cabinets being opened from the upstairs
