do you play with walking only zombies?
do you or it get too easy and boring very fast?

Atm my zombies only walk. This way i can properly build a nice base in the first 20-30 days. After that i let them run so i can use my base to protect me :)
If ur not into the building thing then i suggest to allow the zombies to run.

Walking z's, my body is just too old and fubar to run full stop, I think this cave is giving me rhumatisium as well. Walking are still a big threat if you ramp up the numbers/spawn rate and with sleepers coming even more eek moments are ahead and no the game never gets boring (hence silly hrs played) hermit out. :rf:

yep. Just go back into the settings from the main menu prior to reloading the save

Walking only makes it way too easy. Running at night is perfect for me, you have to make a plan for the day and it really makes you know the distances in your world.

Way back we had z's spawn inside poi's which was interesting some times to say the least, I remember jumping out of windows, hackin through roofs as all other exits were fulla z's. Sleepers will look like a dead z corpse until you get within range then they will 'activate' so they will be able to spawn inside poi's again without to much aggro for pc's and unlike before, they will not spawn inside a poi and smash it to bits trying to get out. So the upshot should be much more 'caution' inside poi's than atm and plenty more 'oh sh!te' moments.:rf:

It all depends on the genre or sub-genre you want to play that day. I guess.

1) Night of the Living Dead

Zombies rise after being dead - Walk only, it's hard enough to believe they can move, less alone walk, without using blood enriched o2 to feed their muscles in order to move, walking/shuffling is where I draw the line.

The obese or non-athletic have a chance to survive the zombie apocalypse

Mutated Sub-genre

2) 28 Days Later

Humans infected by virus when they were alive become zombie like. So, they must have a perfectly evolved circulatory system and beating hearts, brains and muscles need o2 breathed into the lungs, so, it's run, run, run.

The obese and non-athletic are easy targets of opportunity and the first to go, thus, giving the healthy a small chance at first.

But, in the end the quick and savvy, who can adapt on the fly, will be human-kinds only chance of survival.

However, their, on the go, diet mirrors their chances, "Slim-Jim(s)"

This - for me. :)
I feel pretty much home there.

This worked reasonably good with A10 / A11 (and A12 up to first patch) as the Z-population density was much higher than we now have we with A15. (But I get the reasons why it was lowered)

So with the walking Zs I do prefer, the game currently feels a bit too easy.
But I can't find myself comfortable with 28-days Zs.

As do I.

However, I've noticed over the past few versions that most of the Z's here are getting increasingly faster and faster at speed walking.

What's next a box of "Wheaties" with a 7d2d walking dead version of Bruce/Kaitlin Jenner on the box cover showing off his/hers gold medal from the speed walking event in the Olympics?

Z Island walks Sun-Fri, but we turn the zeds loose to run on Saturdays. Funny how players work together when that occurs. I love Saturdays!!!
