Does the airdrops disappear ?
Hey ! So I've just past the Day 21 horde easily and my airdrop was dropped past a mountain, so time I pass it, I lost the signal. I'm now thinking about letting it where it is and find it back another day. Will the crate disappear once I'll have logged off (that is a solo game) or can I come back in let's say 100 days and find it ? Thank you !

No. It stays. You just need to go look for it.

Thank you, that's a welcome peace of mind :) !

The marker for the drop (if you have that switched on) will disappear if you log, but will return to map and compass if you get close enough.

Do they bug out? One dropped near me and I was standing on the marker, but still couldn't see it in an open field. I suppose it glitches through the ground?

I don't know about the marker since I have never turned on. I think I'll find it someday when searching for boulders.

They never go away! I was once stuck underground for a long time (maybe 8 days), when I went outside and explored I found a bunch of them around my area!

Don't know if this works anymore, but when I was indoors or underground on airdrop day and missed the directional smoke marker I'd open the console and copy down the map co-ordinates of the drop. Then I'd use the map to locate and flag the spot as a waypoint indicator.

If I remember correctly, the first set of numbers were west and east, west was negative and east was positive, the middle set of numbers was the crates height in relation to a true ground level as 0, again, positive was up, negative was down, (sometimes the crates got stuck in the sky or above a tree, but, never did they go underground) the last set of numbers was north and south, again, north was positive, south was negative.

Since I no longer use air drops anymore (too un-realistic for me to choose it as a personal preference anymore) I can't verify if the above info is valid anymore.

Yes brandoncline394 i think they can glitch out. My only missing drop was on very steep ground.

Interesting, but I won't use the console as this is for me really unrealistic. I've set the airdrop to 7 days, because that way it comes after the horde. For me it is kinda realistic since in case of a zombie apolcalypse, there would be airdrops to the only part of the world where there is survivors.

since i've started playing i've lost a few supply drops even though they're still on my map (i have the option enabled).

I started a new game and i got every supply drop no problem.
i'd drop everything and go get it as it fell.
but i was busy when the last one came through and when i went to get it, there was nothing but empty land.
I was high up so i figured it was glitched into the ground.
I located it within a few feet, and 5 shovels later, found it deep in the ground.
Probably deeper than most treasure quests.

i hope this gets fixed, its a big waste of time and resources when you're working alone. Having to stop and fight off Z's every now and again isn't fun in a deep well.

I just found my 10th drop way underground aswell. 20 blocks underground. Ground elevation was 98 and drop elevation was 78. I think it happened because it spawned on a plateau. Here is a screen I took from the bottom of the hole. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=916739186

Addendum: have dug down (100 blocks or so) at marker points and found wayward drop boxs
I'm not sure they stay after you log... One dropped while I was looting a huge tower building, I forgot about it, went home and logged, remembered - logged back in and hauled ass back to the area but nothing on the compass or map that I could see... I'm going to go back during the day when I have a better chance at seeing the smoke but the same thing has happened to me before...

Seems to me if you don't interact with it and log they disappear completely...
But we'll see.

Well, this is an old topic, but generally they don't disappear. They won't have a mark on the map when you log back in, so it's a good idea to waypoint them when the drop. Even if you plan on going there directly as you might get sidetracked. If you drive in the area you should find the drop, but you have to get pretty close for it to show up afterwards. Maybe a 100 meters or so. I've found drops that were sitting waiting for a couple hundred days.
