Are there multiple traders on sp map?[solved]
I just wanted to know if you can find more than one trader in a single player random gen map. I was half expecting new quests for them after leveling up a few times. When I play mulyiplayer with my friend we get 2 traders off the bat which have different stock.

Yes. The most of found on a RWG map is 3, but I hear you can find up to 5.

Big maps and they only give you the location of the 1st one. The rest is luck and RNG I guess. The game I found 3 in was A15 (not 15.1) though so I have restarted so I will never know how many I missed if any...

I was trying an experiment for something else and accidentally figured out a way to find other traders but it takes a little work. Go into the Saves folder (on my computer it is in: C:\Users\owner\AppData\Roaming\7DaysToDie\Saves). Find the folder for the world you want to find other traders in and move it to your Documents folder (or somewhere you know you'll find it again). Then make the game again, new with the same seed/name. Make sure when you get to quest #7 that you are very far from where the first trader is (kilometers away) then finish quest 7. When quest #8 pops up (sending you to the trader) you will get the closest trader.

Repeat as many times as you can stand to find the traders but now just deleting the world-save-folder from the 7DaysToDie\Saves folder. Obviously if you choose to save the new version rather than just deleting it, the various world-save-folders will need to have their names modified to keep track of them. When you have found as many traders as you want, return the first (or whichever one you most want) world-save-folder to the 7DaysToDie\Saves folder where you got it from. If you altered the folder name, restore the folder name to its original.

Thats a neat cheat but I'm sure Id find a way to screw that up somehow lol. Does this spawn new traders or just let you know where they all are? Also I tried deleting a save and then making the same name over again. I never get the same seed anymore. =[ Used to be people could share seed names for bunker locations and such.

Traders are generated based on the map seed (name). They are not spawned by the quest appearing, but rather the quest will just direct you to the nearest one. You can encounter traders without the quest exploit or the quest active just in the process of exploring the map.

From the main menu if you go to editing tools and type in your map name (it'll just be there if it's the last one you played) and click the refresh button it'll show you the generated map with everything on it. You have to zoom in to read the labels, but when I tried the part of my current that I know it looks right.

Thank you. When I last used the preview feature the image was fuzzier and there were no names (as far as I saw). But now, using my mouse wheel to zoom in but they are there which makes finding places much easier. So, again, thank you.

My highest was 5 - I can confirm it.

That takes the exploration out of the RWG maps. They exist is all one needs to know, half the fun of a RWG is exploration/discovery.

I agree but that's a choice one can make on their own. ;) I find that tip really handy. What if you quickly wanted to find out if you spawned a solid map to play on with a friend. Kind of silly to be turned off at the idea of other people looking at their map lol.

It's cheating in a nutshel, so no it's not silly. Play it as you want I have no problem with that. I will still remain opposed to playing it this way myself though.

I consider the map to be like a real world map: it tells you only roughly what might be there - to find out for sure you need to explore. With all the random generation of loot, my mediocre gaming skills and my old slow computer, a little assistance is appreciated.

For someone more skilled and on a better computer, I could see it as a mild cheat.
