That is a lot of good loot.
dig down, dig a 2 block high tunnel and you will be able to stand in it and look through the ceiling. should be easy to spot the chest this way.
Treasures are normaly within 3 blocks under ground. Regardless if it's on a mountain or not. There is a trick to triangulate the exact X,Y position even with crappy treasure skill, it's a bit of a exploit but in this case it may be necessary:
Make some frames (about 16).
Walk N<->S and E<->W and mark where the chest stops blinking. The chest should be within this area.
Here comes the trick. The patch marked for the chest's position is randomly placed approximately over the chest everytime you log in to the game. So:
Log out and place 4 Frames again - make them double so you can see the difference from the first batch.
Where the two areas INTERSECT is where the chest hould be. Keep only those frames, remove the ones outside the intrersecting area.
Log out and in and repeat until you get a max 2x2 area. Diging here will reveal the chest.
good luck.
Going directly 3 blocks would be fine if the center of the chest was on the top of something, rather than half way down on the side of an almost directly vertical cliff.
So have you seen the chest through the ground?
It really should be 3-5 blocks down. if you locate where on the _sloping_ hillside in X,Y coordinates then at exactly that point it _should be_ 3-5 blocks in Z direction.
Now I wanna join your game just to find the treasure.. :P
So very worth it.
If it wasn't a single player game, I'm pretty sure I'd be happy to let you go at it lol
