Restarting anew. Inventory, skills, kills, deaths. However, your base will still be there. So will your stuff if in chests.
okay thanks for the confirmation though, sad that 7 days makes this be the only solution, a bit drastic for dying a couple times, i wouldnt complain if i could just get back to a normal wellness.
Never called you one. Only expanded on the consequences and what would be kept.
Hunt animals. You don't even need cooking utensils to prepare them. Grill the meat in the Campfire. If you click on the prepared meat you should see a +Welness value of about 1. If you don't see that something is wrong with your server/save.
If you are at 70 you will see immediate raise in welness from just a single portion of meat. If you don't... some bug. Later on (with higher welness) the welness increase of food is deminished. So womething that gave you +1.6 will maybe give you +0.8. So you will need to eat more to gain welness.
Don't die. Each death is -10 welness. That is why you think you are stuck on 70 - since 70 is the minimum. It used to be 50... And most of us agree the welness hit is a good thing. Otherways the game becomes a base building simulator with the minor anooyance of death. It's a survival game. You should avoid death at all costs. :)

just to be extra clear, there is a wellness boost from eating good foods and stuff that is slightly above 0.01. which immedietly gets removed.
