How to remove land mines from the terrain?
Just died to a landmine and lost hours of gameplay and I just quit. Is there a way to remove land mines? No plans to keep playing with those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ things around.

Landmines will only spawn around certain Prefabs anyways. In general if you see a military camp/etc watch out for landmines. You can easily clear out landmines by standing back and shooting them with a bow if you hate them so much. They're really good at killing zombies though.

If losing gameplay is the problem make sure whenever your exploring to place bedrolls down often. So even if you die you can quickly grab your stuff again.

Sigh... freakin SJW mods censoring free speech...

Again OP, if you're trying for the Nearly Immortal achievement, back up your save file located in your AppData folder, and copy them over if you die.

Freedom of speech doesnt apply to a privately owned forum.

Not legally, no, but it's a matter of principle.

1. shoot them with an arrow............boom
2. shoot them with anything....boom.

No more mine.

This was indeed a poorly thought out addition to the game. I haven't seen a single post here where this addition is praised. I fail to see how adding a feature that could kill a player in such a cheap way is necessary. Many of us play dead is dead and to die in this manner is absurd. I can think of 30-40 features I would add that would improve the game - this "feature" makes me think the people behind this game are either stupid or simply do not listen to the community of gamers that own this game.

Watch where you walk? They are only in the wasteland so don't run blindly and you won't die.

They are also incredibly easy to mod out if you don't like them

well there is not much insight on the lore of the land we are walking in but the wasteland to me seems like a post-war scenario where most things were bombed or nuked, it does make sense that theres mines / bombs scattered around in all the waste and building debris.

Let's not forget that too much realism is bad for a game rav. While I like a good challenge with high difficulty, getting killed instantly by something you can't really see without looking for them specifically is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in my opinion. Games should be skill based or atleast you should be able to control it in a way. Same reason why I hate suicide zombies in all games that have them, the only good one I can think of is the Boomer from L4D as it doesn't ♥♥♥♥ you up a 100% if it gets too close, but you will have a hard time. The bomber or whatever that Dying Light is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, one of those things spawns in a corridor or a building or behind a good corner and you are dead unless you were literally expecting to get jumped and "had your hands" on the buttons to quickly disengage. Having "invisible" causes of death in a game is not fun.

Also someone please, the damn title and text is basically asking for how to mod them out of terrain, any responses please?

i agree that players should have an option to disable them if they want to,
but even if not i dont see the issue. the mines are only in the wasteland so if you dont like mines, avoid the wasteland, you'll find equally good loot everywhere else.
and if there is no avoiding the wasteland you still have the option to use roads.

personally i like the idea of having biomes with different difficulties and the wasteland being scattered with mines and dogs.
it teached me to fear the wasteland and to avoid going offroad at all cost, at least until i have the proper gear to do so. ( i think with full iron armor you survive the mines)

so as you see everyone has a different viewpoint on those mines

"Open your biomes.xml in the config folder and find the line:
Code:

<decoration type="block" blockname="mineHubcap" prob="0.0001" />

And just erase it and save. reroll a new world so everything takes effect and done.

If you want you can comment it out instead if you want to reinstate it later.
Code:

<!-- <decoration type="block" blockname="mineHubcap" prob="0.0001" /> -->

*Don't know if this is the only mine, I just scanned the decorations quickly* "

this is what i found using google for 30 seconds, it was posted on 24.9.2016 so should be still valid on how to remove mines.

I cant say I would "praise" the RNG landmines but im not against the addition of them, with an area as abundant in fast and easy to gather resources as the wasteland it really needed something to make it more of a challenge. Landmines sporadically placed fill that gap quite nicely. Ive said it before, Ill say it again, the issue isnt the mines, its the dogs. Multiple dogs. Constantly
Am I misrembering but in an earlier build I thought you could pick landmines up and place them around your base? Reusing them if you could disarm them would be a great risk vs reward. Sigh old age is catching up with me
