Lag spikes ?
Hi!
So, I've started up a new game, with my new graphics card gtx 1070, right so, max graphics and somehow it's droping from 80 to 70 every few seconds, and if being in creative, it's dropping even more and more rapidly, so what's up with that ? any fix ?

I think I got a pretty good high end gaming pc so it can't be my PC problem, since my friend said something about the game being still unsmooth and unplayable but here are my specs:
i7-6700K
gtx 1070 aoro edition 8GB
HDD 1TB / SSD 500GB
windows 10 pro 64 bit
MB: z170x-gaming3
16Gb ram (2113) (I think?)

Problem is Chunk Loading... U see its like Minecraft where the game loads in new "Chunks" of Land everytime you walk to the border of the current "chunk".(Due to Voxel Nature of this game). Devs should try and fix this but it costs time and money they probably will never invest.

Try disabling SSAO and lower the shadows.

I know i know, but see, in minecraft, once you got a good enough computer (mainly CPU) the problem isn't really there on that game then and I don't have a problem like that of chunk loading in minecraft, since I have a pretty good CPU so it does the job of that, but I never had it before on 7 days to die for as long as I played (alpha 15-14-13-12-11) just now even when standing in a place it seems to decrease... So I mean it probably has to do something with their latest updates (16.3) I've seen that they changed something in how the world is generated, but I'm not sure... So I mean doesn't anyone else have this problem ?

SSAO wasn't turned on since I already had problems on alpha 15 with it, had a post here as well with lag when SSAO was on, so it's something else

The latest the update for your graphics card? Double check, if so.
Verify game caché?
Disable UNet from the launcher?

I was unclear in my explanation sorry. What i meant to add is that everytime it loads a new chunk you get that microstutter because the game makes too many "draw calls"(Even the best of cpus wont help here). But you are saying that you get lag spikes even when standing still?

I just downloaded the game new today, I'm on second newest graphics drivers, since I hate updating for no reason, I just tried chaging some of the launch settings, but didn't seem to change much, just that now I get from a 130-100fps a drop to 70 fps with like 3 to 5 seconds spikes so still same I guess... but it is clear that it's mainly from chunk loading or whatever...

It's alright, but it could be that I guess... And yea I do, just a bit more rare, mainly when walking/running.

Agree on that one :) they just shouldve first done optimizing and then add the turrets and all the other new stuff.. its just easier for a developer to add content rather than doing fiddly code optimizations
