How to stop freezing inside a house in snow biome?
So I decided to build my nice little log cabin in the snow cabin right next to a neat little lake, very very peacfull. The only problem I have: My character keeps freezing inside the house.
I have warm clothes and wear a coat aswell, I have a few campfires set up inside, its closed and has a roof aswell. Its two stories and has a bunch of windows.
Are the windows the reason that its still chill? Or the size of the house? Do I have to build a campfire at every corner?

close every window that is all you need to do

Make sure you're wearing actual warm clothes, not just clothes. Cowboyhats and skirts will make you colder for example.
I'm currently living in a snow biome, I only have warm or neutral clothes and I usually have to remove the +40 coat when inside, but sometimes I need to have it on as well.
Basically, you need a +30 or +40 coat no matter what other clothing you have.

Leather Duster gives a lot of heat and armor and very common. +30 temperature. Legs and shirt can have -10 temperature so unequip or change them if you have that.
Think Duster and the -10 temperature items is a good combo, then you can unequip whatever is causing a problem.
Also if you are wet your temperature drops a lot, miner hat + duster = you almost cant get wet at all.

That is part of the answer, but the size of the enclosure is a factor :

WeatherSurvival
<!-- From 0-1 how much do you have to be surrounded before being considered "inside" --> <property name="EnclosureDetectionThreshold" value="0.15"/>

I frankly don't know what the value could be looking at, perhaps % of the area, idk.

EDIT : ... I suppose you could close the windows one-by-one, and perhaps you would reach the threshold after a certain # of windows are closed, again idk.

Knock out windows and replace with actual block, glass is known bug and lets weather effects in as well as hatches.

This feature is incomplete - you can open the console and type:
weathersurvival off
Which will disable it for that session.

Start a fire.

Prefferably by not using the log house as fuel.

make the roof out of clay, it may not look nice and you need a forge to make it but it provides insulation.

I second this motion : )

Unless you really enjoy micro managing your clothing. Turning the weathersurvival aspect off does not mean you *CAN'T* play the game as if weather was still a consideration. If you are in a cold location (snow biome) wear warm clothes. Build a fire (one) and keep it lit at night or when not moving around during the day. If you are inside and don't have the fire going, wear a hoodie.

You can still play as an intelligent survivor. You just ignore the rain falling through a closed hatch, issues with wild temp variations due to biome generation issues, etc.

I wear mostle military stuff like the shirt and pants aswell as gloves and boots, a miner hat, bullet proof vest, miner hat aaaaand... well the coat. I tried closing a few windows, it seems to be working so far, the stew helps a lot aswell. Will the windows be fixed soonish?

Edit: And the gasmask

Not only that but the material used for a block didnt matter towards insulation even when clay existed

Having a roof / walls / doors completely enclosed of any kind (aside from glass which is currently bugged) will help with insulation in general

Hey boss - does that include iron bars or the various arrow slit blocks? Do any of the glass blocks work (not bugged)? For some reason I thought I had success with Ranger house (with the skylights) after I filled in all the windows and replaced the skylights (broken). But I can't recall exactly which worked (the most recent time was with the full glass blocks, but I like that POI and tend to settle in them for a few days, fairly frequently, so I may have just done it and "thought" it had worked : )

*edit* Yes, I do usually turn the weather off, but a lot of my "serious" game play reflects role playing choices, so I still board up the broken windows / replace the glass (if I can) to keep out the rain / snow / cold air and use iron bars when I am in the desert to enjoy the nice breezes.

I've honestly never tested with iron bars or arrow slits on the "sealed" rooms

i assumed they would let in the cold so i only use them in combat areas, not the crafting/sleeping rooms

as for the glass, i know they said they were working on it, but the visual still shows snow/rain coming through them (at least it does for the glass blocks you craft)

If I'm sealing up a prebuilt house I knock the old windows out and put in blocks
