Anytime i put in a brass radiator my forge freezes. Its been going on for a few updates now and i was just wondering how to get around it making it freeze. Anyone know any tricks?

It isn't frozen it just takes time for it to smelt. That slot will work normally when it is done. The same thing happens when you add tools to the forge to smelt them down. The item has to be consumed to avoid dupe bugs. It does not show you any timer for how long until whatever item was added will take to smelt though.

^This^

Also a neat trick I learned is to put one scrap iron just after it.
When that unit of scrap iron is gone, you know the smelting is over.

I just put the full stack back in and it resumes smelting when done. Can cancel that job quickly and easily enough, to not have to worry if you had larger things to smelt still.

I didn't even know you could throw the radiator in there. I just scrap it to brass first.

you will get more yield from brass if you dont scrap it and trow the pieces unscraped into the forge

Ah, thanks. I don't know if it's worth the inventory slot though. When I'm on a looting run, if it's scrappable it gets scrapped!

I know most of the times i also get it scrapped because of inventory room

Once you are using guns and/or turrets it's worth the inventory slot. Never can have enough brass at the end of the day.

+1. I love my inventory and used to scrap everything to make room. Noticed brass is actually super-rare now when I'm using guns so every candlestick, radiator etc gets saved. Worth it!

You will regret that kind of logic in late-game, when brass is nearly most rare resource to find...

*shrug* I only use shotguns when I need to, so early/mid/late game brass issues aren't a problem for me.

If you aren't running out of brass then I don't think yo8u are even reaching a stage some of us would call late game

Or you simply skip 7th day hordes and play the game for fun

Have to agree with Kuno there. Especially if you have turrets. Horde nights "late game" on are giant ammo sinks. Early game I am all about the bow and try to avoid guns, but later game when your game stage is up there thy can get real nasty and the bow just does't hack it anymore.

If you only used the shotgun, then paper would be the issue instead of brass at that stage. Also slugs need brass too.
