A sticky arrow system is something being worked on. That said those arrows we make with stone heads should be one time use really. Ought to be a chance for the iron or steel ones to break too.

...And of course, no retrieving flaming arrows lol

Ok arrows break.
Can I at least recover some of the parts to make new arrows, in partuicular the steel arrowheads.
Those that miss the target, goo luck finding them outdoors.

So what.... you want a mini-game like Operation[image.smythstoys.com] to go fish out all the arrow heads lodged into zombie corpses?

If you're at steel-grade, and missing enough to worry, you might want to +1 your aim... :(

Just to chime in with my personal opinion on this, I'm in the camp that believes arrows should be retrievable. However, I don't think you should just be able to grab all your arrows back. There should only be a chance to recover it.

- Most of the time, can't retrieve
- Some of the time, only get the head
- Least of the time, get the full arrow back

If you wanted to get saucy, have headshots reward higher recovery chances, to incentivize improving your aim.

I fully believe that missing entirely should be punished by the arrow being completely destroyed, leaving nothing to recover.

Semi-related: I also believe that gun ammunition should leave some amount of scrap metals, allowing you to recover some of your expended materials if you take the time to police the bodies. Should never be higher than 50% return, though.

I agree to an extent.

Shoudl be a chance when you shoot zombies with a bow and arrow (or crossbow or compound bow) that when you loot their bodies you get back some (or all) of your arrows. Figure a percentage chance, and first time the body is looted, apply it to each arrow hit. The arrows that make the percentage chance end up in the zombie loot.

Have different types of shafts and fletchings. They have aluminum and carbon fiber in addition to wood, and there are such things as plastic fletchings that come in fluorescent colors for easy retrieval. Even if an aluminum arrow were to bend as it does more so than break completely, it is still recyclable into what I believe is aircraft grade aluminum (haha, because it flies)*don't quote me on this*
Carbon fiber however, ♥♥♥♥ that ♥♥♥♥, you would have so many little shards to worry about if it were to break. But in order to have things fly right, they must be properly tuned, but here in 7dtd we have better things to do than tune arrows that would actually be good.

I'd be on board with this. +1

Ok.. Lets say they let us gather some of our arrows. I predict the next thread that would come next would be, about dying while looking down to find arrows / bolts. I mean if you want to talk tradjectory, which the game has for arrows / bolts. you are going to be looking over too large of an area for them for any simple variance in elevation for missed shots. and if they made only the ones that hit target to have a chance at being retrieveable they would have to be incorporated into the zeds loot box. Personally with the size of our packs I wouldn`t want to be wasting space on broken arrows, or the distraction of repairing or remanufacturing them in the field. More reason to hit the scrap button if you ask me.

it is not like you can't make tons of arrows ....... come on, feathers are everywere and using stone arrows is perfect. i do not use iron, go directly to steel. and the steel ones i only use in hordes nights. rest of time stone arrows are perfect. why recover them? are they so expensive to make? on a little loot run in can gather 250 feathers. plus i need the eggs. so it's a win win situation

The way it would work (at least in my head) is that missed arrows are lost and cannot be retrieved. RNG% determines if the arrow broke or not. Then when you loot the corpse any arrows intact or arrows parts (like the head) are found in the "container" that is said corpse. Much the same as how you do all your zombie corpse looting now.

"Sticky arrows" was mentioned in a live stream as being worked on though. So you can expect it to show up in some form more than likely. It's apparently related to the spear they are adding in. It can be thrown and retrieved, so that mechanic would then translate to arrows being retrievable in some form or other. Aside from that AFAIK there has been no mention of this outside of that live stream event.

How about realism? Not a good enough reason for it?? It's just a time saver if a percentage of the arrows fired get retrieved. Though if you think that doing so wastes time you could just keep making them instead. It would be a HUGE boon to anyone playing nomad style though as well.
