Lag when using Forges :(
Is there anyway to stop this, GFX set low or high it makes NO difference, If I put Clay & Iron in to smelt im getting 2 or 3 fps when inside the Forge :( Its got worst since the last patch & I assume the timer thats now showing on the stuff... I mean it was a tiny bit laggy before but now its getting unbearable...

What lag?

Btw, its kind of useless to complain about performance issues on the steam forum which the devs never view as they have their own forum site. Its especially useless when you dont even mention your PC specs.

Ive always had a very small amount of frame rate drop when looking in a forge if its smelting 2 items at the same time but it was more of a judder then gone, Now I seem to be dropping frame rates down to under 5 for some reason....& your good comp comment is arbitary as you well know this game is in Alpha & has not been optimised hahaha you plonker...

Ive seen people complain with Thread Ripper setups that probably make your look like a 100$ PC world comuter.. & they still have issues...

So given the fact uve never experienced this issue why did you comment or did you need to post about your cool pc specs....

Move along ......

I asked in here cos the best advice is always experience, You have 0 experience on this others may not hahaha.....

Same for everyone after about 100 hours of play. I thought of using my forges way apart on my base, but I just deal with the FPS lag and that despicable screamer.

I think again of using different settings per computer spec, the game is a fricking hog of resources, try turning shadows off.

The problem at a general level is the content that can be altered like no other game I have played. everything you see can be altered, and this freedom come at a price - meaning rendering your 10,000 block base with 200 dynamic lights and customization's of the creations that tickle the right and left side of your brain, the right side is upon creation, and the ridiculous customized creations that may not be quite as easy to render as just a simple 4 walled base, my base is an overkill that will take out any zombie that decides to invade my base, before they get to my basses spiked wall or even the pit underneath that or even the next 10 block down pit i the middle.

Voxel games get rendered via Open GL or Direct 3D or even Vulcan just like any other engine, but chooses a specific rendering process just like that as the original first Quake game that decided to use John Carmack's open gl designed by my 80's drooling love Silicon Graphics.

Dynamic lights require GPU as much as CPU (the idea otherwise is impossible to imagine) so like me just keep the forges where you want them at your base and put a 7.62 bullet in that screamer for me.

Anyone that believes that what you see on your monitor is all done via CPU threads, please show me proof of this.

I think this doesnt have to do with pc specs. Most 7d2d dont reconizing that short "freeze" when clicking on a forge. (I know ppl which consider 5fps playable) But its still annyoing.
There is no fix for that.

For your problem, im not sure it sounds diffrent.

EDIT: Sometimes i also have longer freezes when clicking the forge.

I did some testing, NO lag if melting Iron, NO lag if melting Iron spit into 2 stacks, Major bloody lag if melting Iron with Clay, Major lag if melting just clay... Massive lag if melting copper & lead but not if I do them seperate, That isnt my pc lol.... Only spent 1k on it last year with dual cards... I did update my GFX drivers but the issues are a approx the same plus I ay also add that my 2nd PC that sits beside me running different hardware suffers the same issues tested myself... I even get a slight lag when entering the Cement mixer.... its bloody strange but mostly annoying as the game is unplayable at 5fps.... I actively refuse to play a game under 50fps cos I suffer from game motion sickness really bad, My eyes can notice small differneces in drops or spikes which cause me to feel proper sick....
