Where to find treasure maps?

It´s random. Sometimes a zombie drop one or you found one in a container.

All the treasure maps I have found are from loot off a dead zombie. I do not remember which type of Zed, i will try to pay more attention to see which ones (if any) drop them.

Yeah, I've only ever gotten treasure maps off zombies. Never in containers. I find them on the cowboy zombies the most frequently (Which makes sense, as they're called "Zombie Prospector", I believe), but I've also gotten them from other zombie types. Not sure exactly which ones, but the prospectors definitely have them.

It's purely random, I've gotten them on every zombie type. I've gotten them maybe silghtly more often from crawlers than from other types

I'm pretty sure I've gotten them from trash piles and also from filing cabinets. I took a break from zombies to just explore and loot for a bit and I've found about five treasure maps and two quests, so I know they are not just looted from zombies.

In my experience I get maps anytime, anywhere, anyplace. From Z`s (most often cowboys/prospectors, but any Z can drop one. I believe word random epitomizes the entire content of this game;) Cards can fall in your favor, or not. It can hold your hand or slap your face, but Mr. Random deals the hands. JMO and doen`t cost you a nickle to read it;)

They definitely spawn in containers. I think it's random though. Maybe bookstores are the best place to look.

I often play with Zombies off and I still find maps. I seem to find them in trash bags in the wilderness the most but pretty sure it's RNGesus.
